#portrait photography
God today was Hell.
So, as some of you may know, I work as a portrait photographer at the Macy’s in the Houston Galleria. That’s the big fancy rich people mall down here.
Today. Was Easter Bunny Day.
Why do we keep doing this? I mean, I know why we do it, we do it because we make money hand over fist. But why do parents keep doing this? There isn’t a child in America that likes getting their photo taken with the Easter Bunny. They scream, and cry, and kick, and wail. Of the 112 photographs I took today, not a single one was of a happy, smiling, docile child.
And honestly who can blame them? These aren’t like children of a thinking, reasoning age. The oldest one was 4 years-old, tops. Their understanding of reality isn’t really set yet. They don’t see this great, huge lumbering thing that looks like a bunny rabbit, yet so clearly isn’t, and think “Oh, this is just some guy in an Easter Bunny costume.” They think this thing is a god damn Lovecraftian horror. Of course they cry.
I’m just glad it’s over. You know, after 11 hours.
