haven’t felt cute in a while and I think it’s because I lost my fav septum ring and I miss my face with it [october 2017 • Seattle] anyway I’ve been thinking about a lot lately! something that really eats at me is I feel like I’m not doing enough // I get on social media frequently and see updates on what everyone is doing and I feel weird because I don’t necessarily feel the desire to share what’s going on with me a lot but I also crave feedback from my peers. Does that mean my hustle isn’t real? Am I not working hard enough? No— but does it mean anything if no one else sees the fruits of my labor? Sounds silly to say aloud but sometimes you get lost in that sea of keeping up. I work a fairly thankless job with a non profit, some of the things I deal with weigh on my soul especially because I’m dealing with children. Every day is hard enough dealing with chronic and mental illness, let alone waking up to the reality of what’s going on with our world. I tend to overthink everything to a fault and that’s what hinders my ability to output at times, whether that be for work, my personal life, my brand or maintaining relationships with other people. This is more a stream of consciousness rather than a well thought out essay about what’s going on with me Just popping in to say something, I dunno I feel like being as authentic as possible is my way of connecting with others. Hope you aren’t already beating yourself up over not accomplishing all of January’s goals because 2018 just started.
