Yes! We don’t make a new tagset each year but rather keep using the same one. If you ran out of nom slots, just tell us mods (in whichever way is comfortable for you) which tags you want us to add, and we’ll do it for you!
Please, please, please, for the sake of your matches, go edit your signup so that all the daughter tags are explicitly added. This is because matching uses exact tags, and that means that “Jewish Religion & Lore” won’t be matched with “תנ”ך | Tanakh”, and so on.
All gifts are now revealed, and authors de-anonimized.
On behalf of the entire mod-team, I want to thank all of you for helping to make Purimgifts, and I hope you had a wonderful time!
Here. Go have fun with those treats :)
We have a posting guide and an embedding guide. Additionally, I (Hagar) am here for any other exchange-related question you may have. (Avery will be back soon, but for now I’m holding down the fort.)
If you could use an extension, now’s a good time to let us know at [email protected].
If you’re unsure whether you can finish your assignment even with an extension, partial and full default are available and non-penalized. If you want to arrange for a partial default, please email us.
If you’re plain unsure, email us. We’d honestly much rather help you, whether by supporting you to participate as best you’re able or through a default.
(Actually it’s a little over 47 hours, but you know the drill.)

Some of you have already posted; that’s fantastic. Some of you are probably hard at work; that’s also great. And if you’re not sure how you’re doing, you have options:
- Extension. If you’re sure you can complete your assignment, you just need a little more time, this option is for you. To request an extension, email us at [email protected].
- Thebackup protocol. This option is for people who’re not sure whether they can complete their assignment, but who really really want to. A backup is a pinch hitter assigned ahead of time. If you complete your assignment, that’s great! And there’s a chance of treats. If you don’t complete your assignment, you can call it off at the last minute - while your pinch hitter had had a much longer time to prepare. To request a backup, email us at [email protected].
- Partial default. This option is for people who already know they can’t complete their assignment, but who want to post what they can complete. To request a partial default, email us at [email protected].
- Full default. If you’re absolutely sure you can’t complete your assignment, this option is for you. You can activate it either by emailing us, or by hitting the “Default” button at the AO3. Either way, you won’t be penalized for it; life happens, and we get that.
And if you’re not sure which of those options is right for you, please email us at [email protected]! Our priority is helping you.
Hi guys!
It is now 1 week (and just over 3hr) to the Purimgifts deadline.

Hi guys!
This is a quick FYI to let you know that works posted to the Purimgifts 2021 collection may intermittently appear Unrevealed (Mystery Works), Anonymous or both. This is because @ernasd‘s husband is building us a thingy that will take down the time it takes to reveal works by literally hours (the process is manual). He needs some data to practice on and the data needs to be structured as the 2022 data is (we touch things up pretty often to make the process more streamlined, and mistakes less likely).
So, no worries if works are suddenly Mysteries or Anonymous! We know that’s happening, and it’s all good.
(p.s., while I’m making this post anyway: deadline’s in two weeks! Now’s a good time to be thinking about whether you’re all good, or could use an extension or a backup. If you’re unsure or if you think you could use some support, please email us at [email protected]. Thank you!)
Hi, everyone!
Today is the mid-point for the creative period of Purimgifts 2022. All works are due on March 9th at 20:00 Israel Standard Time, which is in one month. (Minus just shy of 3 hours, but who’s counting?)

The AO3 were able to resolve both bugs, and now formal assignments had been sent! If for whatever reason you didn’t receive your assignments, please check your spam and bin folders and, if it’s still not there, send us an email to [email protected]. Please do not send asks.
Happy creating, everyone!
If so, please confirm your having received your assignment ASAP! This is going to make your mods feel a lotbetter.
Thank you!
This is a manual process, so please be patient with us! Also, please reply to the assignment email to confirm it.
All right, Purimgifts, we’re taking off! Have fun!
The Archive’s algorithm and our signup pool are still not quite talking to each other, BUT my SO was able to write a bit of code that made us basically an annotated database of potential matches, and I hand-matched based on that.
Unsurprisingly, I’m exhausted right now. So we’re going to wait for Mod Avery to come on-shift and double-check my work, and then assignments will go out.
IMPORTANT: matches will go out in email from the mod account. As soon as we figure out what’s going on the Archive front, we’ll also send assignments through there, so we can all check that tickybox when it’s time.
Support are working on resolving the bug. We the mods are also exploring an alternative solution.
The matching algorithm is taking atypically long to run. We contacted support about this, and are hoping that this will be resolved soon.
That depends, canyou? If the signup page (here) is still available, then you can! The mod must’ve forgotten it on for the night.
(Please remember that matchless signups will be deleted before matching.)
