A pesar de los esfuerzos de Alina y Mal para huir de Ravka, y no caer en las trampas que se le presentaban a cada paso del camino, no se dieron cuenta de que era imposible escapar de su destino. Cuando menos se dieron cuenta, los dos fueron atrapados y llevados a la fuerza a un barco en donde se encontraba The Darkling. Él no quería matarlos en ese momento, pero sí necesitaba su ayuda para encontrar a un ser mitológico que lo haría más poderoso.⠀

Alina tiene dos opciones, escapar y dejar que todo se derrumbe por culpa de The Darkling, o asumir sus responsabilidades y enfrentarse a los miedos que la torturaban. ⠀
Uf, qué decirles… tenía tantas ganas de amar este libro, pero no fue así. No sé qué me pasa con esta historia. Sí les puedo asegurar que me encantó el final pero el resto me aburrió. La idea es genial y también los personajes, pero se me hizo muy lento todo. ⠀

Una de las cosas que más me gusta de este universo es la ambientación, es imposible no sentirme allí. En esta entrega podemos conocer un poco más de Ravka, y lo que está a su alrededor.⠀

Me pareció muy interesante cómo la ansiedad de Alina está planteada en la historia. Su inseguridad y miedo a expresar lo que realmente piensa hace que tome malas decisiones. Espero que el próximo libro se expanda más sobre el tema.⠀

No tuve problemas con los demás personajes, aunque me gustaría saber más de ellos. Ah, me encantó Nikolai. Me pareció encantador y que le dio frescura a la trama.⠀

I just realised that when Alinas first light show happened she was touching Mal so does that make him an amplifier or something? I haven’t read the books and I’m still watching the show so I’m unfamiliar with things still but oooh that would be nice
“I certainly judged the character. I think I’m allowed to judge the character, particularly in today’s context, in terms of that abuse of power. He’s at the top of this structure, in terms of the hierarchy of the world, and he abuses that power to take advantage of our protagonist who is a literal representation of hope and sunshine, in order to pursue his agenda. In today’s world, that is obviously something that I can’t find a way to condone, but it doesn’t mean it’s not my job, as an actor, to justify why he thinks it’s all right, considering that he believes in going to any lengths to pursue his cause, which he believes is for the greater good, he believes is protecting his people, and he believes is necessary. It doesn’t make it any more condone-able that he might be genuinely falling for this person. It might be this person that could give hope and light to him again in the future. Those questions are interesting to pose. I see him as the antagonist. I don’t know whether I see him as necessarily the villain. “

I CANT WAIT TO SEE ALINA PUNCH NIKOLAI ON SCREENNNN IN SEASON 2! SQUEEEE-
the reason tht ppl hating on shadow and bone books or even the fandom ticks me off is bcuz, shadow and bone is a perfectly great book, with good world and character building showing themes different from books released at the time, but the reason ppl dont like it is bcuz the book tried to sell to an audience tht wantedthe villain to get the girl and the bad guy to ultimately win. Neither the author nor the fandom is at fault here.
Okay, so I have just finished Shadow and Bone trilogy and here are some thoughts:
- i looove Alina and her sass, but i just wished she was portrayed a little more independently from Mal, Darkling and etc. Like i wish there were more scenes of her discovering her power on her own and being more badass;
- Zhenya and Zoya are amazing, wish there was more of their story;
- Nikolai is the new love of mine <3;
- the story overall is really really good, but i feel like i needed a little be more of grishas and their powers, a lot of chapters were a little bit dragged out and boring sometimes. End the whole story of Morozov is a little confusing to me? Especially his impact on Mal, like??
- The ending of Ruin and Rising is really confusing, like it was thaaat easy to kill Darkling? And the whole distraction of the Fold did not make sense to me? I guess I just wish it was solely Alina with her powers destroying the Fold;
- i didn’t see anyy chemistry between Alina and Darkling, like i dont understand why everyone ships them? I guess the tv show and Ben Barnes have huge impact on that;
- Alina and Mal’s love is super cutee, especially the epilogue
- oh I also loved all of the russian names and references (especially that my first language is russian)
Generally, enjoyed the books a lot and loved the whole Grishaverse. Planning to read Six of Crows duology next

Hellow i’m sorry I didn’t update yesterday I was just very tired last night and had lots of things to do today.
I ended up watching up until episode 4 and now my plan is to binge watch the rest!

Hi i’m at episode 4 now and i’m just gonna share some of my thoughts bc SO FAR THEY’VE FIXED EVERY ISSUE I HAD WITH SHADOW AND BONE ?!
- Mal is PERFECT what the heck I can’t believe that I love him now
- I LOVE what they did with Alina’s character. Instead of going with the ‘i’m not like other girls’ shtick they focused on how different she feels for being half-shu which leaves such a more powerful impact on her storyline (I know they had said that was the direction they were going for in interviews but I was septic. I’m so glad to see they pulled it off extremely well)
- The crows. Nothing needed to be fixed for them of course. Just happy they stayed as incredible as they are. I love them so much.
- Not specifically about the show but I just peaked at twitter and the first thing I saw was a Mal fancam by someone that didn’t read the books? This is great right?
Anyways I feel like I have so much more to say but I can’t remember anything rn. I’ll come back after i’ll have watched a couple more episodes.
I’m sorry if my ramble doesn’t make sense lol
