I’ve had these shoes for 5ish years and refuse to let them go bc they are the only shoes that properly support my feet (retail price is 300$, but I got them for free)

Mended the severely worn out sole with super glue, duct tape, and masking tape

Super glued a layer of duct tape to the sole, built up the sole with a lot of layers of masking tape (green), then used a final layer of super glue and duct tape to seal it all in. It’s not perfect, but it lasts a few months

If anyone has a better way of mending soles, lmk!

i love love love how many strangers will curiously watch/ ask me what i’m doing when i’m foraging in an urban area! there’s always at least one curious person (or their dog lol) when i’m out gathering food, and i love being able to share food & plant knowledge with them!!!

Hugeeeee thicket of japanese knotweed. My gf and I picked twice as much as the photo on the left, to share with friends and food banks (I asked if I could bring foraged veggies and they said yes :3)

I haven’t tried them in savory dishes yet, current obsessed with mashing & slowly boiling knotweed until it forms a hard paste, it’s soooo delicious

im seeing the fruits of my (minor) labour. I harvested a bunch of amur cork berry seeds (i shouldve dried the berries first for a less intense smell, but alas you live and learn) in september last year, and just now in June do I get to start using them! the make the most effective mosquito repellent ive ever tried, I’m gonna wash my laundry with some of the crushed seeds so all my clothes have the repellent (and we’ll see if it works as well as fresh application)

my gf and I can’t be fucked to do the dishes anymore so we’ve put most of them in storage (cleaned before storing, ofc) and started using large leaves as plate covers and bowls

large hosta leaves dont make the best cutting boards, but it’s functional

i love that my gf and i have created a space where we can fucking suck at something & still receive support for it

everyone on the subway was absolutely entranced with this baby
