#quinn leverage

so I have only one serious headcanon about Quinn and food.

Picture, if you will, a Quinn who’s working with the team for only the second time. They’re back at the brewpub for celebration and cooldown and Eliot has commandeered the kitchen to cook them a hot meal. Everyone’s crowded in there, ostensibly to keep him company but also to nick bits of food before it’s done, and Quinn’s leaning back against the counter. He looks dubiously over at the ingredients Eliot’s collecting while the onions brown. “Is this gonna be vegetarian?”

Eliot stops what he’s doing and stares at him. “You’re vegetarian?”

Quinn folds his arms and stares right back, while Parker leans towards Hardison and whispers, just loud enough to overhear, “How did this not show up in our research?”

“Right,” Eliot mutters, and sets down his knife to raid the fridge. “Hardison, you’ll need to order more mushrooms, I’m using these.”

“No way,” says Hardison, and Eliot casts him a scowl that fades out when he sees he’s addressing Quinn. “We had to talk you out of bringing your spare knives and we’re supposed to buy that you don’t eat meat?You’re messing with us.”

With each word, Quinn’s looking more obstinate and more irritated. “Meat grosses me out,” he says, like that’s all the explanation that’s needed.

Eliot halts partway through cleaning the mushrooms and gives a grudging nod. Parker eyes them both for a second, then says “Oh.”

Hardison looks from Eliot to her then grimaces. “Oh, I definitely don’t want to hear any more about that.”
