Queen’s Thief Appreciation, Day 2: The Queen of Attolia – the books/characters as things my friends and I have said

One of the major twists for me was the complete transformation of my opinion of Attolia Irene. I started rooting for her ever since we got her background story, and by the time “Diplomacy, in my own name” rolled around, I was fully infatuated.

Queen’s Thief Appreciation, Day 6: Return of the Thief – the books/characters as things my friends and I have said

In honor of Pheris’s hilarious horror at grown-up things.

Queen’s Thief Appreciation, Day 7: Short Stories – books (or in this case, short stories)/characters as things my friends and I have said

I had trouble deciding which of my 3 quotes to go with, so I decided to draw really sketchy versions of all of them. Happy short stories day!

Queen’s Thief Appreciation, Day 3: The King of Attolia – books/characters as things my friends and I have said

This book… just has to be my favorite one. The way Eugenides is revealed again and again draws me back to it again and again. Plus Costis, poor Costis <3

Queen’s Thief Appreciation, Day 5: Thick as Thieves – the books/characters as things my friends and I have said

The lion’s den is one of the best episodes of this book, so I hunted for a fitting quote.

Queen’s Thief Appreciation, Day 4: Conspiracy of Kings – books/characters as things my friends and I have said

The fact that Sophos used force in the end despite being the so-called bunny of the series is simultaneously devastating and funny, especially since we’re used to sneaky sneaky politics and scheming from Gen. (Not that Sophos wasn’t veritably sneaky in his own right.) It was completely unexpected and yet right!

For QT appreciation quote swap day, here are things my friends have said that fit QT characters

Queen’s Thief Appreciation, Day 1: The Thief – in my saga of QT books/characters as things my friends and I have said.

I wanted to participate in qtappreciationweek this year, but didn’t have the time to create any serious, meaningful pieces that would properly honor and embody my all-encompassing love for these books, so I’ve come up with the happy medium of… memery.

I’ve come to the conclusion that my silly contribution to this fun celebration isn’t totally out of place, because it does encapsulate one of the reasons I was first drawn into the series: the humor. My gods, the humor. From the moment Gen splayed his body by the side of the road, content to endure his new life as a landmark, I was enraptured. I adore Gen’s unbridled, raw snark in The Thief.

QT’s Appreciation Week: Part IV

A quote from an Ancient Greek author that gave a perfect portrayal of Gen’s personality (and in a way, strategy).

P.S.: In all honesty, this series came to my mind the very first time I stumbled upon this quote.
