Okay but the end of ep 2 was absolutely brilliant. I was thinking that Hye Jung had found a purpose and stability too soon, but it was honestly so in character. It’s obvious she throws herself into whatever she does, whether it be being a gangster or a star students so it makes sense that she would succeed early on. No, what was more moving than seeing her succeed was how she dealt with a failure. Because she’s never had anyone to protect besides herself. It would be so easy for her to have claimed Ji Hong had forced himself on her, but she didn’t. She tried to sacrifice herself. For the first time in her life, she found something other than herself worht fighting for. She found stability and a place in this world in such a short amount of time, and Hye Jung not being able to do anything but watch as her new purpose, her new family literally goes up in flames was brilliant and heartbreaking

Recently got the time (FINALLY!) to watch one of the movies that I so badly wanted to watched since its trailer release, Fitoor.  And let me tell you, this movie got me hooked to it after just the first 30 mins. Yes it is that beautiful.

PLOT

A poor but talented Kashmiri boy Noor, is hired as a stable-keeper by Begum. He is deeply infatuated with her daughter Firdaus. Begum notices his actions and sends Firdaus to London. She asks Noor to become successful in order to win Firdaus’ love. When he grows up, he becomes one of the most successful young artist of India. But Begum has another plans to demolish his desires. ANALYSIS

The plot revolves around three main characters: Noor, Firdaus and Begum. However it’s Begum’s character and her past that condition and then drastically change Noor and Firdaus’ story. Actually the movie is about this mid-aged depressed woman, who was once in deep love with a man (Mufti) that betrayed her, it’s about the turmoil in her heart, the inability of getting rid of her feelings and her distrust in love.

Begum notices Noor’s love for her daughter Firdaus, she tells Noor to get a status before allowing himself to love her daughter but at the same time, when Noor does get a reputation and a standard, she doesn’t allow him to get her. Begum’s experience makes her cynical about love and somehow she tries to play with it through Firdaus and Noor’s relationship but she’s incapacited at doing anything because what she considers a temporary and naive love is actually not felt in the same way by Noor. This guy here is just obsessed. Begum tries to warn Noor to stay away from love by telling him “yeh ishq nahin asaan” but he doesn’t get her. Firdaus is an angel, some divine revelation to him. What starts as infatuation rapidly becomes a true obsession. Firdaus reigns in his mind, soul, art! His love is too deep to give up to Begum’s recomendations. Noor is just a pure innocent Kashmiri guy, who can’t get the complications of love but he can feel its beauty thanks to Firdaus. On the other hand, this girl is very complicated. She likes Noor a lot, she falls for him too but she’s been too influenced by Begum and her ideals on love. Her mother warns her to always keep Noor behind and doesn’t let him be predominant. Firdaus follows her mother’s teaching, she tries not to fall for Noor but she’s not Begum. Begum’s education fails when after her suicide, Firdaus sees a pendant with her mother and his lover’s photos, a pendant that her mother used to jealously keep, and she understands the invincible power of love, how even the one that always warned her about the dangers of this feeling has actually never been able to get rid of it. It’s only then that she allows herself to surrender to love and Noor.

WHAT I LOVED ABOUT THE MOVIE

The first thing that is absolutely stunning about it is the artistic touch that Noor (Aditya Roy Kapoor) brings to the movie. Noor as an artist is fabulous. Being an art lover (not expert though), this was what left me spellbound. The whole movie has this poetical background brought to it thanks to Noor’s talent and it’s so damn beautiful, I can’t tell you. Talking about ARK, he did a really nice job as Noor. + he was so hot, thank you so much for whoever decided that there were going to be so many shirtless scenes of him. Those arms omg!

The second thing that made me fell for the movie is Tabu as Begum Sahiba and Begum Sahiba herself. She as a character was so intriguing and interesting. Her dialogues added that magical quotient and her aura and grace were so majestic. Tabu was beyond perfection and Begum is just another witness of this woman’s greatness as an actress.

Katrina looked gorgeous in the movie. Many talked about her acting, but honestly speaking I found her absolutely bearable. She’s not the best actress of Bollywood but she did a nice job as Firdaus. And let’s not even start talking about Pashmina, goddamnit I’m so in love with her moves. Tried to copy them but miserably failed. She’s such a goddess when it comes to dancing, hands down! Moreover her chemistry with Adi was such a bliss. They were sparkling!

Loved Ajay Devgan’s small appearance. He left an impact despite having very few scenes, precisely 2 short sequences. The intesity he brought in the atmosphere when he made his entry, my gosh! That’s the definition of being a true actor: the lenght of your role is not important, the impact you leave is.

Then the music was OUTSTANDING! It draws you inside the screen, Amit Trivedi understood the movie and its essence and it shows in his soulful songs.

The locations damn it! Breathtaking! It made me want to go and visit Kashmir!

It was so nice to see Lara Dutta in a movie after so long! She’s always a pleasure to watch!

Maybe I forgot to write about something but thats it. Overall for me the movie is really very good, watch it if you still haven’t or if you’ve been discouraged by its box office collection. It’s worth it!!
