Recently, I’ve noticed that a lot of talented artists I follow online have experienced massive drops in reach. Social media puts a lot of pressure on artists to constantly mass produce high-quality work. From what I’ve experienced, artists who can’t keep up can feel sad or angry at the algorithm, and some even doubt themselves.
So here is a reminder that you shouldn’t focus too much on the numbers on your posts. I know from personal experience this is easier said than done, but distancing yourself emotionally from social media can be incredibly relieving! Just know that decent people won’t judge you by the numbers you reach. If you produce quality work and / or have fun with what you’re doing, you’re on the right track :)

Which of these 3 illustrations do you prefer? I made all of them in one evening and I felt super productive ^^ They may not be as rendered or detailed as my other paintings, but I enjoy telling little stories like this one! Would you like to see more like this?

I recently went through my old art folders and found a study that I did back in 2018 of the famous “The Swing” painting by Jean-Honoré Fragonard. I immediatley pictured Isabela Madrigal from Encanto on the swing, so I decided to edit that old piece ^^ I hope you guys like it!

Do you have a crush? I was inspired by one of @itsnedkelly's (on Instagram) beautiful photos that he took in NYC. I’d love to visit that city (and perhaps NY Comic Con) one day : )
