Hi!

Some of you will know me as Bluey.

I’ve started a new blog because this year I’ve set myself a reading goal and I wanted to try to document it. I’ve never done this before and I’m a little nervous, but last year was the year of learning more about myself, emotionally, and understanding that I’m neurodivergent and that part of my coping mechanisms for that is allowing myself to disassociate when I have to and bury myself in books. So I decided that this year was going to be about embracing that instead of trying to hide it the way I usually do.

Books have always been an escape for me, more than movies or tv shows or anything else really. I don’t remember a time when I wasn’t able to open a book and find a new world waiting.

I learned to read at the age of three and never looked back. I devoured books constantly, so much so that if I was missing in a store, my mother only had to go to where the books were and there I’d be.

My reading goal this year is 180 books and I recognize that’s a lot of books, but I also know it’s attainable for me. So…If you’re interested, follow along, send me recommendations and let me know what you’re enjoying.

I typically read romances or mysteries or just fiction. I don’t really enjoy horror in any form, so I tend to keep away from it. Fantasy and sci-fi are welcome, but rare reads for me because they don’t tend to keep my attention. I’m a romance girl at heart…I tend to need something to ship .
