Pyrites are great, but it’s even more fun when they come with toppings! This pyrite with rhodochrosite sprinkles comes from Bolivia, and it is available at GEO ROOM mineral shop in Madrid, Spain C/Bretón de los Herreros 22 (metro L1 Ríos Rosas/L7 Alonso Cano).

Here’s the fifth installment of gemsona week! I decided to put up my drawing of another person’s Rhodochrosite! It’s awesome and belongs to @rhodochrosite-love!
I chose Famethyst since I wanted to show that Rhodochrosite is a lot different to the rest of her kind. She’s a lot taller and scruffier than her family, she’s very slow and lazy whereas the others are energetic and she has a few physical ‘defects’ due to her being off coloured.
Before I begin Gemsona Week I should probably introduce you to Rhodochrosite! She’s the lazy, goofy fourth wall breaking dork! Her favourite things to do are sleep, and eat and tell jokes, much like Amethyst. This one in particular is a rough cut, so she is taller and a lot more unruly than her counterparts but, since her kind is accepting and aren’t to judge, they love her as she is. Her weapon of choice is a rope for a lasso, for tripping people up, making traps and nets but most importantly she can make a hammock to sleep on. She fears very little hence her chilled, happy demeanour because her eyes are closed constantly due to the big goofy grin on her face. ‘Why should I be scared if I can’t see how scary it is, dude?’

Rhodochrosite has a characteristic pink color, as you can see here. Fluorite can naturally take on almost any color, depending on trace elements. Here it has a bluish-purple tone.
