Their new lives with Kenny by their side lived up to Levi’s expectations: he was exhausted. He had missed his old man’s presence in his life over the years, but now he would laugh at his former self for having such feelings after getting a glimpse of how it could have turned out if Kenny had stuck by his side. Levi appreciated all the quiet years he had known before the present day, even with the war. Not that he would ever admit it to anyone, but even dealing with Eren seemed a simpler task nowadays. Fortunately for Kenny, Levi’s violent ways of discipline were a thing of the past, all thanks to his loving wife.
The disarray his life had turned into truly hit him when he woke one morning, and his day had already been ruined before it had even begun. He’d been looking forward to having Petra all to himself for yet another day before the children’s return from Paradise, and he had even told Kenny not to show his face around there. Any joy he’d felt was quickly sucked out of him the moment he saw the junk in his garden- an old metal trailer, rusty and as gross-looking as his uncle sat in the middle of their yard. If his uncle could afford to live in a trailer, why was he bunking with them? The man stormed downstairs from the bathroom, or as best as he could storm when he had one crutch in hand, the other hand holding the handrail with a deathly grip. He needed some answers. But his oblivious wife just stood in the kitchen, cooking some breakfast for the two of them.
“Have you seen that shit in our garden?” He scoffed in disbelief.
“Oh, the trailer?” Petra responded, ignorant to the annoyance in her husband’s voice. And Petra, not being as clueless about the whole situation, only seemed to irritate Levi further when she casually spoke about it.
“Are you telling me you’re fine with it?!” Sometimes she made him wonder why they had gotten married in the first place. That was until he glimpsed at her warm, beautiful, amber eyes and forgot about it all, even his own name. Petra knew how dramatic Levi was with personal space and cleanliness, so she never took his harsh words to heart. She had expected this response when she’d agreed to let Kenny move the trailer into their yard, sure that Kenny knew what he was doing by asking her and not his nephew.
“Not even the whiskey can keep these old bones warm anymore,” Kenny had argued with her.
“He can’t sleep in a tent all winter, Levi,” was Petra’s final answer. She would not let Kenny freeze to death in the makeshift tent their kids had come up with during the summer, no matter what Levi had to say on the matter. Admittedly, she hadn’t been so keen on the idea at first, as that was less space for their children to play, but Kenny had swayed her.
“Sure he can. He lived in the Underground, remember? I’m sure he’s slept in worse places.” Even nowadays, he dreamt of the dump he and Kenny used to call home. An old, dirty mattress that Kenny dared to call a bed was all he offered Levi when he took him in.
“It’s that or our couch,” was all Petra had to say to put an end to the argument. Levi could just imagine it: Kenny laying on his couch, pants off, with a cigarette in his hand and a beer bottle in the other, spilling everything on his precious yellow suede. As always, Petra had won the battle.
“You’re playing a dirty game, Ral.”

“The fucking rats are at it again, Petra.”
Levi sighed in exasperation as he looked through the kitchen cupboards, brows furrowing as the empty spot where his favourite tea biscuits usually sat mocked him again. He was quickly growing tired of this infestation. First, it had been some bread and then some cheese, and before they knew it, they would notice a little something missing every morning. But his favourite biscuits? That was where he drew the line.
“It’s probably the kids’ carelessness; I’m sure they just forget,” his dear wife always told him, brushing off his misfortunes. Little did she know of the extent of his worry, the countless nights he had lost thinking of the little devils roaming around freely in his spotless home. His life in the Underground had taught him to avoid the little disease carriers, and his skin crawled at the idea of sharing a place with them. The multiple traps that Petra had set out clearly weren’t doing the trick, but his own methods hadn’t been very successful either, as he grimly recalled that one shameful night that Petra would never let him forget.
Levi had been on a mission that night to finally spot the little scoundrels terrorizing his home and his family. Mostly him, really, not that he would ever admit it. He had come up with what he believed to be a foolproof plan to catch them. After making sure Petra and the kids were in deep slumber, the man had gotten up in the middle of the night to get everything set up. He chose the perfect bait, some stinky cheese that he usually would never dare to bring into the house, but made an exception this once. He had set it out on the countertop in plain sight to hopefully gather all the pesky rats in one spot. And then he waited, hidden away behind a sofa where he would be out of sight but could quickly jump into action when the time called. He had been ready with artillery, too: a broom in one hand and an old metal bucket in the other to swat the little beasts into their hell. One thing that was not supposed to be part of his rat hunting uniform: Petra’s floral nightgown. But the odds were against him that night. Colder conditions than he was accustomed to and his wife’s tendency to be roused easily forced him into a choice he would always regret.

Postwar Rivetra in Marley with a pinch of Kenny Ackerman in their lives

Kenny had almost forgotten how rough life with the runt by his side could be. Kenny, clean that. Kenny, you’re disgusting. Kenny, change your underwear daily. Kenny, no guns at the dinner table. Kenny, stop hitting on my wife. Kenny this, Kenny that. It almost made him debate if free food and housing were worth having a mother constantly nagging him about how to live his life. Imagine the kid thought I was his dad at some point, Kenny found himself laughing about lately.
Right now, though, he didn’t feel like laughing much at all as he thought about his most recent argument with his nephew that had happened just a couple of hours prior to him coming to this bar. Frankly, he felt he deserved better after all he had done for the brat, but it felt as if Levi was finding any excuse to fight with him and drive him out of his home. The house that Kenny had turned into a home for them, that was. He had done what Levi had asked of him. Why had his nephew been so angry? He grimaced as he remembered.
“What the fuck is this, Kenny?” Levi scoffed in disgust as he looked at the mess in the kitchen, which he had politely asked his uncle to clean, but he had returned to an even bigger mess. Wet dishes were stacked on the counter, dripping water all over that it was now trailing onto the floor. And Levi swore that he still saw stains on the supposedly “washed” dishes. It was when he looked in the sink he wanted to gag, seeing splashes of food covering the sink and most of the dinner’s leftovers sat piling up on the drain.
“Why do I even bother asking you for help if you can’t do anything fucking right?” He added, crossing his arms. “What do you even bring to this house? You don’t contribute in any way. All you fucking do is mooch off of us.”
Kenny could hear the growing frustration in his nephew’s voice, and when he met Levi’s gaze, he could see it too. “Quit it, will ya? I did the dishes like ya asked.” He responded submissively, not in the mood to deal with another one of Levi’s outbursts over something so minuscule. Though he then smirked, and Levi knew the man was going to say something he wouldn’t appreciate. “I’ll tell you what I brought to this house. I made it a home for ya.” He claimed proudly.
“You’re delusional. I don’t care what Petra says; you’re out.” He was certain Kenny was mental. Levi had done his best to look past Kenny’s aggression for the sake of his family. But instead of answering his nephew, all Kenny did was sit in Levi’s favourite chair with his arms crossed and a shit-eating grin on his face. A smile that answered Levi’s threat: Let’s bring Petra in and see what she thinks about this.

Levi had never been drunk in his entire life. Maybe it was an adverseness to being sloppy and clumsy, or whatever gave him superhuman reflexes also translated to his metabolism, but if Levi could bet any moment where he would be drunk, it was his bachelor party.
Well, a sort-of bachelor party. When Petra went through the invitations for their respective last nights as a single man and woman, they quickly realized their guest list was exactly the same. Petra considered her male friends like brothers, and Hange wouldn’t be able to choose which to go to, so they settled on a combined bachelor and bachelorette party.
Turns out, regardless of gender, the Scouts liked to party getting plastered and singing karaoke. An anonymous donor (though Levi was positive it was fucking Erwin; who else had this kind of money) paid the local band to play all night at the Scouts’ behest. Petra—who was already two shots in—was often found humming in the stables and during her morning run. Apt for her bachelorette party, she was the first to take the stage and began the night with Survey Corps fight song.
Petra took the table and began dancing, and was joined by Eld and Nifa. Beers sloshed in the air and more shots were hoisted as the drinking games began. The first game? Two truths and a lie regarding Levi and Petra, with Petra screeching out truthandLIE,and demanded to extend the game to the other couples in the room.
Levi already felt a headache coming on and he began to lose track of how much he drank in his attempts to stave off the embarrassment.
He thought it was imagination when the lights dimmed. Or how their crowd of friends formed a square and plopped him down on the nearest chair and pushed him to the edge.
“Huh?” he said, and the crowd hushed while the musicians waited to strike their next chord.
A flurry of drum beats followed a plucking of strings and strutting along to the beat…
…was Petra in a beige dress. Glittering beads on her skirt reflected in the light and it swished just above her knees. In she entered with a sway of her hips, her eyes fixated on Levi. Hair pinned back, Levi wondered when she had time to change and add eyeshadow. None of that mattered, not with her looking like she was about to devourhim.
Coming closer, she licked her lips and placed two hands on Levi’s shoulders while she remained standing.
“Oi, Pet—“ he began, but was silenced by a kiss. The crowd behind them whistled, the music winding up again as it decrescendoed.
With her breath just above his skin, she whispered, “This is for you, Mr. Ackerman.”
Winking, she slinked down, her hands not leaving Levi’s shoulders and her legs bending into a low squat. Levi wanted to moan, imagining her ass spread apart as she bent over, but his fantasies were stifled by Petra undulating above him, rocking her hips in time with the music.
Levi usually didn’t care for this kind of thing; he never saw the point of a tease to only stuff a few coins down a woman’s ass crack and then onto the next poor sod.
ButPetra doing this—he could die a happy man. Twirling around his chair, she made sure to give him a faceful of cleavage, followed by a wink. His eyes were fixated on her legs, the taut muscles he was all too familiar with. He couldn’t wait until they were wrapped around his cheeks, drowning in her—
The music ended and Petra finished with a bow as her friends clapped and whistled.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen the Captain speechless,” Eld snickered, clapping his back and handed Levi another drink. “Bottoms up, sir. The night is still young. And I think your bride-to-be is waiting on another dance.”
Petra wagged him over with a finger and he followed without a second thought.
Who was he to say no?

The Savior Complex - Chapter 1
Hello friends! I’ve been off tumblr for a while, but I’m happy to share this new story I’m working on. Here’s a Rivetra reincarnation Au that happens in canonverse.
Summary:
The narration begins 84 years after the end of the manga, in the canonical universe. Due to the terrible trauma generated by the war, and the strong political enmities prior to the destruction of Paradis Island, legislative agreements were created to limit the discourse on “the Great conflict.” As a consequence of this, and for some inexplicable reason, the people have forgotten the truth about the war and the titans, living in the shadow of a traumatic war that although they know that it happened, they cannot fully understand. It is within this new contemporary society that the forgotten members of the Survey Corps are reincarnated, carrying within them the memories of Ymir’s people.
Levi is a social worker who leads a quiet life until he generates an anxiety disorder seemingly out of nowhere, which is accompanied by chilling nightmares that bring uncanny visions from a time before. Everything will take an interesting turn when he meets Petra, which will force him on a journey through his past to discover the truth about the forgotten Great War.
