rkljhyun‌:

jaehyun hadn’t seen her all summer– she’s been away and he’s been busy with national team practices. when he thought about it he wondered if he had forgotten to tell her– he didn’t think she’d find it interesting at all regardess. looking at her now he knew that he was about to get a talking to, he hadn’t messaged her back–

“ryujin ah,” he said as he sat up in his bed, looking at her from across the room, “i ignored everyone.” he nodded his head.

it was the truth– jaehyun had been too busy wanting to win– practice had taken up most of his time, his father was truly strict on the training reigme. his mother had made him lunches but all jaehyun had cared about had been– would taeyang show up to his tournament? the answer was no– neither his brother or mother was there.

ryujin was away– he couldn’t remember if nayeon was there but she might have been there for a little while.

“It wasn’t like i went out of my way to not text you back.”

her eyes roll as response to his excuse, true as it may be it’s quite a poor one in her much too honest opinion. ryujin has always been straight forward with the elder male, which in one way means that he always know where he has her but it also often result in some sort of fight. she sigh, audibly, as though she’s entitled to his attention regardless.

“why?” is all ryujin ask when he explain that he has been ignoring everyone, short and precise just like she usually is. it annoys her though, when he add that he didn’t go out of his way just for the sake of ignoring her. “did i say that you did? no.” what annoys her even more is that in her hand she hold a gift, the grip tightens around the handle of the bag.

she refrain from stepping further into the room, keeping her stance by the bedroom door that minju closed on her way out. childish, most certainly, but they are mere teenagers with ryujin youngest and most immature. she has never had responsibilities so far, and she doesn’t at all understand what jaehyun could possibly be dwelling on already.

exhaustion had overcome him, the summer had been particularly stressful and long for him. it had been filled with tournaments and matches– left and right, never good enough– always compared to how his older brother could be performing. thankfully they were over now– one rule that jaehyun had for himself was that this time of year. phones were a no go, it could shake his focus and that could not be the reason why he was making a mistake.

despite that.

jaehyun had made a mistake– no one but him and his father had noticed, it was the final match–   and he had served the ball slightly off track, thankfully he had managed to take the point regardless but the way his father looked at him after. was tattoed inside his brain, the look of disappointment, when he got home he hadn’t been able to look at his mother, the teenager had gone straight into his room.

he sighed heavily, shaking his head before punching the wall hard.

just one mistake.’

jaehyun laid down in his bed for a couple of minutes before bringing his phone up for the first time in the last two months, “oh…” he noticed the missed calls and texts, just as he was about to write up a reply he heard his mother– “jaehyun ah, ryujin is here–” instantly he frowned because he knew what was coming.

her entire summer has been designed to deliver the ultimate holiday, ryujin does not have the chance to meet her grandparents very often so when she do they spoil her rotten. it is a given that although she is exhausted from all the fun times she still has a lot of energy left in her, it’s overwhelming to many because the trip has given her so much to talk about.

and ryujin is known to talk a lot from before. she step into jaehyun’s room wearing brand new clothes, though the other will probably not notice at all she has a small hope that he will. their relationship is odd at best, impossible to describe because in one way they get along well but somehow there’s always a fight around the corner. they just cant refrain from it.

the young teen’s smile is bright when she look up to the other’s mother, as per usual when the woman is near them because for some reason they always have something they need to hide. today is no different, ryujin is a bit annoyed due to the fact that none of her calls or texts has a single reply. “oppa,” she begin once minju has left. “why are you ignoring me?”

a closed starter for @rkljhyun, throwback to summer of twenty fourteen.

When Ryujin returned to Seoul from having visited her grandparents in the states she thought that her friends would be more excited, she has been away for around a month after all. She’s welcomed warmly by most of them actually but one particular person is ignoring her, the fact it happens to be Jaehyun annoys her more than it would had it been anyone else.

Stubborn as the young teen is she doesn’t accept this kind of treatment however, and wonder whether he’s doing alright. For all she know he can be sick, though that doesn’t make sense– the other hasn’t been responding to her texts, if he is bedbound then he should have the best time in the world to text her back. No, something’s fishyand the teen is curious.

So that’s why Ryujin find herself in front of the Lee’s front door, her step-brother has been nice enough to drive her over because her parents aren’t around as per usual. The door open soon after she ring the bell and Ryujin’s met by Minju, who she has met many times before and who she is strangely comfortable with. “Hey auntie~ Is Jaehyun oppa home?”
