Give this to your parents, friends, significant others, coworkers, random people, or anyone else who tries to warn you about the dangers of travel. I’ve been to post-revolutionary Cairo in 2012, Colombia, most of the pickpocketing capitals of the world, and a variety of other places where I felt more safe than I have in many neighborhoods in America.

How to Stay Safe While Traveling

It’s worth noting that many parts of the world — including a lot of popular tourist destinations — are less dangerous than the United States. Some people have a perception that the life they know in America is quite safe, but the rate of violent crime in the U.S. is high for a developed country. In any given situation in life — getting in your car to drive to school or work every day or just crossing the street — there is a certain risk involved. Before you consider the danger of visiting a foreign country, do not discount the danger you face and mitigate successfully everyday. I like to frame it like this: Imagine you’re a parent or teacher, and think about the advice you might give a born-and-raised, sheltered suburban kid about staying safe on a trip to New York City. This is, in essence, good and solid advice for any person about to travel to most major tourist destinations around the world.

Travel Stone
Created for an upcoming journey, can be charged and carried as a charm or talisman for protection ✨
• 1 Stone, either from your home or one that you have had in your possession for a while
 • Purple incense or candle (I used incense, as it can help to invoke the element of Air to assist with this charm)
 • Paints, Yellow (associated with Travel) and Blue (for possibility - perhaps to bring a little more adventure to your journey!)
Creation
• Cast your circle
 • Light your incense, calling on the element of Air to assist you in creating your charm. You may choose to mark out your circle quickly using the smoke from your incense, I find this can add a little extra oomph when calling on the element of Air!
 • Charge your Stone with your own energy, and your intention
 • Paint your Stone yellow. While it is drying, you may wish to meditate on your intention
 • When it is dry, carefully paint the Alchemical symbol for Air on one side of your Stone (this is the one that looks like a triangle with a dash through it)
 • Make sure to focus your energy on imbuing the symbol with the element of Air as you do so
 • Again, meditate as you wait for your paint to dry
 • On the reverse side of your Stone, paint a symbol of your choice. I chose a symbol for Safe Travel, created by @onesigiladay , although use any sigil you feel comfortable with
 • Once the paint has dried, charge your Stone using any method you like, pop it in your bag or purse and enjoy your travels!

This is one of my most effective sigils imo! I love this
