There’s still time to prompt for SC Rare Fest!

Want more stories about the Rose family’s found family? Interested in exploring the relationships between our favorite townies? Want to explore Patrick and Ray’s relationship as roomies, how Ronnie joined the Jazzagals, or what happens to Alexis in New York? What about all the potential throuples, moreples in this universe, or the rare ships that could’ve happened with a canon divergence? Or some post-canon happily-ever-afters, both romantic and platonic? We are the fest for you!

How Prompting Works

• Between now and May 23, you can leave prompts on AO3! Any ideas for rare or gen works can be left here for creators’ inspiration.
• Wewill have catch-all prompts. They will be posted after prompting closes so they are easily accessible at the top.
• To give everyone a fair chance at claims, we will be removing claims made earlier than May 23. We will announce on Tumblr when claiming is officially open!

A Few Questions We’ve Received

Is there a minimum word count?

Yes! We only ask that fics be at least 1000 words.

Can I submit a fic that’s part of a series or a prequel/sequel to other fics that are already published?

No; the fic must be entirely stand-alone and be able to read and enjoyed on its own without background knowledge from other works.

Can I submit a partially-finished fic?

No; the fic must be complete.

What about fics or other fanworks that feature David/Patrick/[NAME]?(A throuple or moreple, so to speak, if more than three persons are involved.)

If the fic focuses on the relationship as a whole, between all persons, and isn’t primarily focused on the David/Patrick relationship, we will allow it. We ask that you use your best judgement here and try to only submit works that meet the spirit of this fest, which is to shine a light on the areas of the Schitt’s Creek fandom that don’t get as much love as David/Patrick.

Quick Details

• Works featuring rare ships of all sorts are welcome
• Works featuring gen stories of all sorts are welcome
• Works based on rare/gen stories of all sorts are welcome, including podfic, art, filk, and everything else!
• There WILL be catch-all prompts!
• We only ask that the David/Patrick romantic relationship be background; it can certainly still be in the work as a whole, but we ask that the work be focused on rare or gen elements. We absolutely encourage works centering on David and Patrick’s gen or rare relationships, too!
