NIKE’S SQUEAKER
(Arthroleptis nikeae)

TheNike’s squeaker (seriously resisting the urge to make a shoe joke) is a species of frog belonging to the genus Arthroleptis, commonly referred to as squeaking or screeching frogs (presumably for their vocalisations). This squeaker was given the name ‘Nike’ after the conservationist Nike Doggart, who discovered the species. Many Anthroleptisfrogs, including the critically endangered Nike’s squeaker, are being threatened with the extinction.
