When She-Ra 2018 came out dudebros were freaking out about how they changed the design too much. They had the audacity to call THIS ugly for daring to make the cast actually look their age and have varied designs-
But THIS is fine???
What are these nightmare proportions???? Why is his head so tiny???? Why are his arms three times bigger than his thighs??? Dudes were mad that Adora actually looks like a teenager and has a realistic silhouette…but there’s absolute CRICKETS about this total nightmare of aesthetic design for the He-man reboot
I’m laughing so hard what the fuck even is the double standard here? What am I supposed to say? Y'all see this too right???
I’m not gonna say anything about the He-man reboot itself bc I haven’t watched it At All, but the hypocrisy in this absolutely destroyed me in the Walmart toy aisle
BGs I had done for the She-Ra Transformation sequence! The second panel with the strip of pink light was meant to the be the pan up of She-Ra’s outfit change then trucking out when her hair blow up.
Lots of space clouds and sparkles :D

Madame Razz’s Cottage! We wanted to make her home part of the landscape so had the woods growing over the home. I did a couple versions of the house til we came to the final version (first image)
Was tasked with creating the BGs for the opening sequence of She-Ra based on color keys by @perrymaple. The princesses are the star of the opening sequence, but these were still fun to do and experiment on.
I’ve worked on the Visual Development and Environment concepts for the show for almost two years since the production had started before I decided to bounce to other gigs.
I’ll be posting some of the work I had done on the show, mainly on the BGs and the set designs. Hope you guys enjoy!
First up is the Planet of Etheria! One of my early tasks was to design the planet the story resides in and it’s multiple colored moons that circle the planet.
The third image is when I did a pass of it as a more flat design before we changed it to a dimensional look.
