long post rant about some recent events: unfortunately a few weeks ago, the crew of shera has made some racist remarks in their livestream, and has been a hot topic on twitter for some time. this is really disappointing. they have hurt the black community and although it wasn’t intentional, these comments were still hurtful and they have every right to feel this way. Racism is so embedded in our culture that we fail to see it in our everyday lives. i kind of understand where this is coming from since filipinos also get rep for being the ‘help/slave’ in other countries, and if jokes like that were towards us i think i would feel pretty enranged too. so let’s be more sensitive with ourselves. As educated and privileged people, we need to be more sensitive and work harder to understand what does it really mean to be inclusive. to treat all people with respect and equality.

i still support the show She-Ra, it’s my favorite show and is in a realllllyyy special place in my heart. it’s helped me personally and mentally. but i do not excuse what the creators / crewra did.
