More of the Jonathan WIP.
Glad that I decided early on that the right image was NOT how I should approach this, ditched it quickly, and invested in a more painted approach. The colors remind me of cotton candy or bubblegum, which does not fit with this image at all, but I’m doing it anyway. I hope it gives it an uncomfortable feel.

Some Jonathan sketches. I wanted to preserve the sketch element of these images somewhere because I feel in love with it, and the end result might not retain what I love about these images.
The bottom sketch fits Jonathan’s humble, well mannered character, but of course I needed something more edgy and conceptually complex, hence the top portrait I’m going to refine for the prompt. The tousled/blown hair makes it hard to imagine it’s supposed to be Jonathan; adding Merkabah's design into the mix isn’t helping the matter either.

i am going to be completely real with you a month ago i had no idea what shin megami tensei was other than that its called shin megami tensei but then i blacked out and somehow found myself 50 hours into smtiv with absolutely no recollection of how and why i got there so here are some doodles. mostly jon and walter becos they are fun to draw

There’s a contest about welcoming Nanashi to the SMT universe~! 0u0 So I drew some dead kidz to capture that macabre Atlus humor haha. Perhaps he met up with the Persona 3 protagonist when he died.

I’m pretty sure I’ve missed like a ton of characters/demons with tats but OH WELL. They’re Jojo posing because I suck at inventing random poses. How do the draw your squad people do it?

Nanashi is unsure if everyone else’s happy expressions are appropriate for welcoming someone into a world of death and destruction.
My entry for Dailymegaten’s SMT IV Final contest! I had a lot of ideas but most of all I wanted to do some sort of song parody (because smt and musicals continue to be a hilariously mismatched pair), and A Whole New World fit the bill perfectly. Will I ever draw the rest? Uh, maybe? Full lyrics under the cut, btw.

We’re impatiently waiting for a US release of SMTIV:FINAL, so our first contest of the year will revolve around Nanashi! The theme is other characters giving Nanashi a “warm welcome” to the SMT universe.
GRAND PRIZE WINNER RECEIVES:
$35 worth of our SMT merch (can also be 6 acrylic keychains since we usually do 6 for $35)
2 derp drawings of whatever character you like!
RUNNER-UP RECEIVES:
1 derp drawing of whatever character you like!
RULES:
-illustration/comic MUST have Nanashi in it
-characters from other SMT games are encouraged (i.e. Heat, Nanako, etc)
-KEEP IT SPOILER-FREE AND SAFE FOR WORK

Previously, on Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem…
I’m sure SMT x Fire Emblem/Genei Ibunroku #FE will be a great game and that I’ll love playing it - I’m just disappointed that Atlus made a teaser trailer promising some big crossover of mainline SMT and Fire Emblem, then went silent for 2 years only to finally reveal a trailer that seems completely contrary to any of that.
The characters could’ve at least had TheKanekoBlackUpperLip™.
Anyway, how about that Fire Emblem if?
