“This is so crazy. Don’t you think this is so crazy?”
Before Chloe had the chance to respond, the tall girl with the long brunette hair paused to stare at her with widened eyes.
“Not like…bad crazy. Not that crazy is bad or anything, just like—”
Chloe giggled quietly, effectively cutting her off. “Don’t worry,” she promised, reaching out a hand to delicately touch the other girl’s arm. “Yes, it’s super crazy.”
Having just filmed the show’s introductory segment, then immediately to the pods right after to film the cast entering for the first time (before promptly hearing a loud cut! and finding out that they would not actually be entering and that things were evidently filmed out of order to begin with), crazy was the exact word Chloe would’ve used to describe this experience, too.
“Chloe?”
The sound of her name caused her to pause, before she turned to meet with a clipboard-carrying crew member who wore a headset and a friendly smile.
“We’re gonna film some introductory interviews while the other group gets set up with their pod pieces. Do you wanna come with me and we’ll get you all set?”

SUMMARY: Why Beca signed up for a reality dating show, even she didn’t know. She certainly didn’t expect to meet anyone, andyet…
NOTES: Although not based on any of the actual couples, the show is essentially just Love Is Blind under a different name. All credit for the concept to that.

“You’re not actually going through with this, right?”
Although her back was to her, upper body all but buried inside of her opened, only half-packed suitcase, Beca could picture the height of Stacie’s perfectly plucked brow thanks to the tone of her voice; she could mentally see the way it was practically lost among her hairline.
“Yep,” Beca mumbled distractedly, exaggeratedly popping the P.
Stacie chuckled in response. “You’re insane, dude.” Without grace, she plopped down onto the only free patch of mattress she could find, then quietly began to hum to herself as she reached for a poorly packed flannel shirt. She laid it neatly down in her lap to begin folding to a much higher standard. “You really think you’ll find love or whatever?”
Beca snorted. “No,” she shook her head. “Obviously not.”
“So, walk me through this again,” Stacie prompted. Delicately setting down the newly folded shirt, she immediately reached for another. “Why are you doing this?”

Entering almost cautiously with her notebook and pen held in one hand and her water bottle in the other, she instinctively glanced toward the screen at the sound of movement. Despite her mild confusion, her feet carried her naturally over to the couch. “Um, hello? Who am I speaking to?”
“Hey,” a voice, strangely soothing and increasingly familiar to her by now, responded without hesitation. “It’s me, Beca.”
In response, an almost coy smile pulled onto Chloe’s lips as she lowered to the couch to resume her earlier position. “Didn’t I already talk to you today?” She questioned playfully.
“I mean, I can go if you want,” Beca shot back, the playful tone evident in her voice, too.
“No,” Chloe grinned, head shaking gently. “It wasn’t a complaint.”
“Good. Guess I’ll stay then.”
A subtle smirk rested on Chloe’s lips in response, head beginning to tilt slightly as she curiously eyed the screen. “Did you…ask for me?”
Beca immediately groaned, her reply accompanied by something of an embarrassed chuckle. “Dude, don’t call me out like that.”
“Okay, okay,” Chloe grinned, “sorry.” She sank back comfortably into the couch, fingers drumming gently against the plastic bottle held between her hands. “I’ll pretend I don’t know… And that I’m not super curious as to why you asked me here.”
