Silly Gachapon and UFO Catchers - Food Edition
A themed post this time, showcasing the wonderful world of Food Gacha.
In order, we have: Light up Latte Art, a sumo wrestler made of Mochi that creeps into food and sleeps (the おすもっち pun is choice), little bags made to look like gum packets, Dog Loaves, and then the last two.
One is squeezy bread with a bite out of it that smells like the different ‘flavours’ (choco spread, strawberry jam etc)
The last is apples. Just, mini fake apples.

Sorry for the awful photo quality, but the Densha de Go arcade version finally came to my inaka town for all of one month, and I managed to get onto it in time for a couple of plays (despite the threats of lost friendship :p).
It was…a ridiculous amount of fun if I’m being honest. Big size train car cabinet, surround screens, good controls, touch screens, it was a blast.

Silly Gachapon and UFO Catchers - Moustachioed Poop Edition:
Let’s just get right into it shall we. Yes, that is a yellow poop wearing glasses and a moustache, in large pillow form. “Peraperapeter, why?” You may ask. Because this poop is the mascot of the wildly popular “Poop Kanji Training” series of books, where kids learn Japanese Kanji by writing sentences that are all to do with poop (”This flower looks like poop.”, “The king demanded a castle made of poop”). Bonus non-gacha pic: The board game you can buy for Poop Kanji Training.
Other ‘wonderful’ examples we have here are: Pull-back luggage trucks (in both go-forward and U-turn varieties!), a variety of 1/2000 scale authentic Japanese naval vessels (with, incredibly, full hull, waterline, and a place to make the aircraft carrier look like it’s plane elevators are either down or up), squeezable stress ball purin, and a UFO with a variety of spoons holding food, including curry, tempura and rice omelettes

Silly Gachapon - Hisashiburi Edition:
It’s apparently been like a year since my last gachapon post - which means I have a literal year of gachapon pics to catch up with. Gonna queue up some weird gacha each week for a while.
This edition, we have - “Plain bodies” and scooters (with little helmets under the seats), Jelly that wiggles, stretchy natto, mini beauty products, “Slimy Tapioca”, and Miniature Sniper, where a tiny sniper is hidden in a variety of everyday objects, like a gum packet and a tiny milk container

Weird Gacha/UFO - I’m trying to do themes but they’re just so varied Edition
This week, we have: A tiny miniature height measure like they use in hospitals over here to measure your figures, dinosaur skeletons, miniature self-defence force vehicles, 1/400 scale trains (so teeny!), a history of Japanese mailboxes, and two separate miniature camera models, one with an led torch and one with addable lenses.

Weird Gacha/UFO - Cats!
God there’s been a lot of cat gacha/UFO recently.
Today we have: Easter themed Cat Hats, Vegetable themed Cat Hats, Pooping Cats (who are dreaming of using a toilet), A cartoon head grumpy cat pouch that you can hold in front of your real cat to take pics, poke-able sleeping kitty cats, and big long stretched cats that you can coil up like a snake.

Silly Gachapon - That’s it, everyone go home, they’ve perfected Gacha edition:
So, I went to my local sushi parlour recently, and found this - the pinacle of Gacha technology. Some of you may remember the Pokemon Gacha Gacha from a while ago, but this takes the cake.
This is officially licenced Gacha Brand Gachapon Gacha. As in, you put in your money, and receive a super tiny, perfectly replicated Gacha licenced machine, with a working dial that you turn to receive your (tiny) capsule, and a whole host of wonderful little details.
Firstly, the sticker sheet comes with 100, 200, and 300 yen gacha price stickers, so you can customise exactly how much your miniature gacha machines would cost to use.
Secondly, as you can see at the bottom, they come with optional parts so that you can make an entire wall of them, all connected and snapped together, if you want to make a full miniature game center.
Thirdly, and my absolute favourite, is that the inserts that the models come with are actual replications of real Gacha that you can actually buy (choice of two!). The one I chose for my model is the first run of a Gacha series that I’ve featured in Silly Gachapon before.
I want to collect the whole set.
