Today I’m happy to release Praaven Reworked, a new version of Praaven by jje1000/potato-ballad-sims, edited by Simsmidgen and me. As usual this project took longer than expected. But with the help of our many fantastic testers all is well that ends well.
Simsmidgen and I tweaked some things more to our liking, replaced broken CC, reduced the overall amount of required CC, recoloured EA objects and/or replaced them, fixed major routing issues, reduced world size, replaced/fixed all those bloody arches and stacked staircases, thinned spawners, improved terrain painting (at least we think so). We added the two festival lots by lowrisim and tweaked them a bit and also made sure that the tomb can be solved (yes, there is a tomb, go looking for it!). We tried to leave the world as original as possible though (apart from the things that didn’t work well). Public release is with permission of potato-ballad-sims.
It was a true labour of love for @nornities and I, but well worth it.
Even if you have no interest in medieval game play, just have a look at it. It’s exceptionally beautiful, so please remember to first remove any lighting mods you may have installed.

Eureka Valley is a very pleasant world, more science/tech turned and a real mix of old farms and futuristic houses, ready to play into a full revamped and transformed Appaloosa Plains base … We modified terrain textures, roads and trees, downtown, lots place and situation and tried to get as close as possible of our theme.
As previously said, we reworked the world to be more playable … It is quite a large world, unpopulated with 60 pre-installed lots ( 34 Community lots and 26 Residential lots ) The complete listing and the credits for some lots we used is on our website. Most of the community lots are homemade by the k-hippie team;)
We tested and played 3 weeks long on 2 different computers ( one Mac and one PC ) in this world and didn’t get any problem at all. So, we suppose everything will run fine for you ;)
Maybe you already know : Oaksoak Hollow is based on Hidden Springs where we changed almost everything : the terrains, the lots, the look and feel, the ambiance, the population, etc … until we get what we wanted : a kind of Mystic Falls ( from the TV show ) for the Sims. So ……… Many supernatural are floating around in this 2020 update :)
To avoid any confusion with the previous version of Oaksoak Hollow, we renamed ALL the lots which begin now with the name : mystic
To get the whole stuff working fine, here a short todo list :
-Uninstall the previous version of Oaksoak Hollow
- We use some rabbit holes : some are ours ( link here ) the others are Jynx doors rabbit holes. They must be installed BEFORE installing the world itself. They are .package and must be installed inside your Mod folder.
- To avoid a well known and common problem in the Sims 3, you should install the Festival Lot once the world is installed and played.
- To be sure to avoid any bug, we removed the Oaksoak Hollow University from the pre-installed lots. You shouldn’t have any problem if you install it in your game after everything else.
That’s all. EVERYTHING else is running smooth :)

As already said in the 2 previous posts, we had to make choices to render the world smoother to play : Even we loved the previous City Hall, we replace it with a Maxis one. Idem with the Police Station, the Military Base and the Hospital. But do not worry, you’ll find everything is fitting really well ;)
We hope you’ll get much fun to play this World and imagine dark and mysteries because, indeed there is dark history floating inside Oaksoak Hollow…
We are glad to have updated our 2 worlds. Now, we can begin to think about new creations and for sure, it will be a very different world :D
What’s coming ( very soon ) in the Oaksoak Hollow 2020 Update ?
As we managed to render the world more playable, we had to make some choices such as :
- Remove some trees ( not too many ;) ) –> It’s still a very green world - Modify some lots ( such as the Oaksoak Market and the Theatre ) and suppress as many objects inside lots as possible. - Remove too heavy lots such as the City Hall or the Hospital and use a Maxis Town Hall and a Maxis Hospital instead. We chose the Moonlight Falls City Hall which gets all in one the town hall, the military base and the police station rabbit holes … - Remove the University to avoid any bug - Remove some lots ( such as the Old Bookstore ) and use some others instead ( we kept the Vanderburg Library which has a bookstore section )
- We added more diversity in both residential and community lots ( new Elixir Shop, new Grave Yard, new Pub, new Fishing Spot) - We added some missing lots such as the Stadium, the Archives Cave from Supernatural, the Equestrian Center, the Dining Place, and even a kinda Church for wedding events … - We made a specific Festival Ground - We renamed all the lots to avoid confusion with the previous Oaksoak Hollow lots ;)
At the end, there are 33 Community lots and 23 Residential lots and of course, there are still some terrains where to install your Sims which will be downloadable besides the World itself :)
Beware of all the supernatural floating around and get prepared to move in Oaksoak Hollow!
This is Laura an adult sim. Her traits are Neurotic, Loner, Shy, Daredevil and Photographer’s eye. Her life time wish is to present the perfect aquarium.
Backstory: Laura has come to Northeney from Boroughsburg where she was working as playwright editor. Her life there was very miserable, as she is having issues with social anxiety which has affected severely her health. In order to keep functioning she had to isolate her self as she was seeing everyone around her as a threat.
Then one day presented an opportunity to move in Northeney, and work there in the island’s lighthouse. The daredevil and the loner side of her agreed on the spot, her neurotic side though…
What helped her calm her anxieties is Ash, her horse, she adopted as soon as she settled in Northeney. Τogether they explore the wild beauties of this small island. What will they discover?
Are humans indeed the most dangerous species on earth? The one we must avoid at all costs?

I mentioned a while back that I’ve been spending some time playing in some of my favorite CC worlds by other creators. Now, granted, I still have the lighting mod I’m using for my Thicket playthrough in my game so not all of the worlds look like they are intended to, but that doesn’t make them any less beautiful! Did I mention, that I love this game?! I can never get over the scenery! The first world I have been spending a good amount of time in is the beautiful Northeney by @nornities . I love the fact that it’s roadless! There’s such a sense of community in this world and it is stunning no matter where you are in the world!
