Simmer’s Expectations Unreasonable: Studios get the time they need

Q: “Where’s everything in Sims 4?”
Peter Moore: “I got all this stuff,” and they forget, “well it’s taken me years, to accumulate this.” Then you ship Sims 4 - now we just did the expansion pack and everything’s starting to feel good about Sims 4 now - but it takes a long time to do that and we always totally underestimate that when we ship a Sims game. You forget what most people now are living with.
Q: Vampires, dogs …
Peter Moore: Everything! They’re on their fifth relationship! The Sims players…They’re a hard-core bunch, a very hard-core bunch.
Toddlers and swimming pools! Think of that and all the furore that was.

“The Sims 4 Spa Day Game Pack, coming late July!
The Sims 4 Spa Day provides an all new type of venue, the Spa (duh!), where your Sims can get a relaxing massage or hang out in the sauna. This pack features several interactive objects, including a new massage chair and the mud bath! Another new addition to help your Sims wind down from their daily stress is building their Wellness skill by taking Yoga classes or learning to meditate - the higher their Wellness skill the more Yoga poses they will be able to do, and the more superior Massages they’ll be able to give.“ –Rachybop
The Sims 4 Stuff Pack: Perfect Patio Stuff
The next stuff pack for The Sims 4, Perfect Patio Stuff, has been announced for next week. Here’s the details that have been released so far:
CONTENT
- CAS: Hairstyles, Swimsuits (guys too), and Casual Outfits
- Objects: Grill, Patio Bar and Furniture plus Deco Objects (Full-Sized Image) Update: Stone Counter & Islandtoo.
- 2 Hot Tubs: A mid range wood/polymer and high end stone. They have a 3x3 footprint and walls can be built along side of them. (source&source)
- New Gameplay: The pack brings back hot tubs which up to 8 Sims - including children for the first time - can use.
UPDATES Hot tub features include: Skinny dipping, woohoo and aromatherapy upgrades. Sims can also relax in hot tubs with drinks.

For those trying to predict a release schedule for The Sims 4 content it might be a waste of time right now. According to Graham Nardone they’re experimenting to see what sells:
“To me, Sims 4 feels like a different approach to studio/team management and development timelines. Things may change as we learn what players respond best to between SPs/GPs/EPs. I wouldn’t comfortably place a number on a routine cadence of releases at this point while we continue to experiment with different ways to deliver content.” –Graham Nardone
