So it appears that Autodesk did a thing.

Go nuts, my friends.

this is my favorite art program. it’s *much* more intuitive than photoshop/gimp or corel paintshop, but it still has the full functionality of a digital art program (layers, brush stabilizer, etc.). it’s not overwhelming to start on like practically every other decent art program I’ve tried, you can just pick a brush and start drawing as if it were paper if you want. plus you can download extra brushes for free! and they publish free art tutorials pretty regularly

ANYONE looking for a free art program: worth looking into.

YALL I LOVE THIS PROGRAM, especially the ipad version!! and i’m psyched that i don’t have to pay $30 a year for it anymore!!!

September 20th, 2021: I still see a lot of folks reblogging this, and that’s awesome! But there’s been an important change re: SketchBook.

SketchBook is no longer part of Autodesk. They’ve split off from the company and are now their own entity, meaning they have to start charging for SketchBook again in order to make a go of it.

The good news, at least, is that being independent of Autodesk means they won’t be beholden to a subscription model. They can just sell the app outright. $20 once feels a lot better to me than $30 per year, at any rate.

More details are available here regarding how they’ll be moving forward. I suggest giving it a read.

One of the first things I painted in Clover. I don’t know what happened over the last week or so, but several paint apps in android have been updating their interfaces to be more slick. I tried sketchbook pro again, layer paint hd, and a couple more. Still, Clover beats them all in terms of painting feel and feature set. Clover’s UI is not the most attractive, but damn it paints a lot like SAI. One thing the others get wrong is the pressure curve - there is no access to adjust it! Also, non-configureable stylus button. I ADORE the fact that I can set the button to “undo” in Clover. End rant.
