It’s just so lazy and mean-spirited. And not really funny. Either you disappoint someone who doesn’t know the date or more likely, everyone already knows what the 'joke’ is going to be. You know what would be a more surprising and better joke? Actually releasing the thing on April Fools. Everyone would assume it’s a joke, but the joke is that it’s real.
