#slur discourse

LIVE

this gives off “I’m Asian so I can say the nword” energy.

You know, this whole time I’ve been preparing myself to deal with the ‘kink at pride’ discourse I thought would surely come. Little did I know I’d get clotheslined by the comeback slur and flag discourse.

Just saw a post about how someone said the word “d*ke” isn’t antiblack, which, I’ve never heard that it was & there was no explanation on that post. Don’t want to reblog their post and start something with them or direct anything toward them.

But does d*ke have some sort of connection specifically to the Black community? I tried to google it but couldn’t find anything so I would love Black voices on this.

From my knowledge, it actually stemmed from a slur for intersex people than began to be used for wlw, but if there is a racist history, I’d like to know. I know the post I mentioned said it WASN’T anti-black but I love to hear where that sentiment originated.

Slur discourse involving the word queer is chronically online and pointless. Some people identify as queer, other people hate being called queer. Maybe just… don’t call people queer if they don’t identify as queer?
