bokuto has come to realize that he is mindlessly in love with you.
and he probably should’ve realized it a while ago—on warm summer nights where you screamed to the radio, or soft winter mornings where you squeezed warmth into freezing hands—but instead, it’s a tuesday.
and it’s not like tuesday is a special day, at least not usually, but he’s walking you home and holding your hand and he can feel the way your thumb dips into the divots of his knuckles, so, suddenly, tuesday might be his favorite day of the week.
“you’re quiet tonight,” you hum, a little sound that spills into the night. “still thinking about the game?”
he starts to shake his head, but he bites back the motion before it can fully crane through his neck because, really, what’s he to tell you? that it’s you he’s thinking about? that his mind is still caught on the little smile that sets along your teeth and the way you glow under the dotted light of evening stars? perhaps that wouldn’t be his best course of action anyway.
“yeah, a little.” you look up at him—smile wide and gaze heavy—and a part of him wishes he could just kiss you now. a part that wants to skip the awkward conversation and the holding hands and the little ’i like you’ that’s clawing at the tip of his tongue. a part that wants to tell you every little thought and every strike of love that hits his mind, but that would be too easy, wouldn’t it?
“you’re gonna beat ‘em all one day y'know.” he laughs at that. “you’re a star, kou. i just know it.”
your voice is sweet like honey and feels something like home and if he were a little bolder and a little less scared, bokuto would’ve told you he loved you right then and there. but instead, his voice falls from his tongue without so much as a thought.
“promise you’ll be there to see it?’ he asks, and the smile that pulls across your lips is nearly enough to knock him off his feet.
“oh, i wouldn’t miss it for the world,” you reply, and god, he hopes you mean it.

Leaning the broom you held on the wall beside you, you surveyed the work you’d done on the kitchen floor below you. Despite sweeping for nearly half an hour, you still had a lot more area to clean. You sighed.
Reaching into the back pocket of the loose shorts you wore, you pulled out your phone as you loaded up your music app, reaching over to turn on the small bluetooth speaker that sat on the countertop next to you.
Tbh I’ve been having this kiss prompt on my head for a while and thought about adding it into a fic before (not Hitsuhina fic, but my ship from other fandom), but since I’m suck at writing, a short comic won’t hurt and feel so much proper with my creative capability.
