AMND may seem complicated but at its core it’s really the simple story of a girl who loves a boy who loves a different girl, who loves a different boy, who loves her back in defiance of a duke who loves an Amazon - who may or may not be a fairy queen who adopts a kid, loves a donkey-man (who loves himself), and feuds with her husband who loves to mess with her by way of his hobgoblin, who loves to mess with everyone.

What plain proceeding is more plain than this?

Coriolanus, or why your mom shouldn’t choose your job for you

Are you…

  • A Shakespeare nerd?
  • A theater nerd?
  • Neither but you somehow think becoming one will make you look cool?
  • Interested in acting but maybe not on a traditional stage?
  • Or better yet, in your PJs at home?

Welcome to Social Shakespeare! We organize audio-only cold readings (i.e., no rehearsals) of a different Shakespeare play each month. Readings are held on Skype and scheduled based on reader availability. We do our very best to cast everyone who signs up!

This month we’re reading Coriolanus, a play that asks, can you ever really return home from war? And also, how does pride affect politics? But also, what if we kissed on the battlefield… and we were both enemies

Signups are only open through April 30, so if you’re interested put your name in now! Check out our guidelines for more info and send us an ask if you’ve got any questions.
