The Sarai Shahji Mahal can be easily located in the Geetanjali Road that passes through the Shivalik area of Malviya Nagar. Although it is technically an area attached to the Begumpur Village, it is better to go via the main road rather than entering the village from the other side and getting lost in the maze of narrow alleys. The palace and the surrounding buildings used to be a part of the Sarai Shahji village.

As the name suggests (Sarai means ‘inn’), it was meant for the faraway travellers who found shelter here, much like Badli ki Serai or Sarai Rohilla on the other side of the city. These buildings are predicted to be from the Mughal era, thus making them a bit more recent as compared to the other monuments in this area.

Location: Sarai Shahji village, Hauz khas

Sheikh Yusuf Qattal was a popular Sufi saint, who lived during the reigns of Sultan Ibrahim Lodi (1517-1526) and Badshah Zahiruddin Muhammad “Babur” (1526-1530), and died in 1527. He is believed to have performed religious devotions at nearby Satpula, a water harvesting dam built during the reign of Muhammad bin Tughlaq.

It’s a beautifully propertioned structure, the last few remaining blue tiles at the base of the dome give a hint of how spectacular it must have been centuries ago. Records indicate that the tomb was commissioned by Sheikh Alauddin, the grandson of the Sufi saint Sheikh Fariduddin Ganjshakar, the spiritual mentor of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya.

My art comes as a form of protest.
In my country Cows are more important than a woman’s life with more security. (Reference: Majority of Hindus believe cow as their holy animal and they worship it though Majority of Muslims consume it as a part of their daily meal.) The debate is never ending “Whether to consume or worship it” but gaining political benefits out of it is wrong. Why not let the people decide what they want to consume.

I will be photographing women from different parts of the society.
This is silent form of protest which starts from India Gate, one of the most visited sights in India

I would be more than happy if you reach out to me and want to get photographed or maybe join this form of protest.

STRANGER! if you, passing, meet me, and desire to speak to me,
why should you not speak to me?
And why should I not speak to you?

This poem by #WaltWhitman titled “To You ” always reminded me . In this world if we are not conversing , we always be strangers and there’s no connection . So say hi to person sitting next to you in this grey coach called life . So you can fill some Colors . Remember that . Next stop Kottayam

Do you ever watch the sunset
And just sit and think about things
Just you and the sky and darkness
Giving your thoughts some wings
Perhaps you’ve got some troubles
And don’t know what to do
Or you just plain need to get away
To spend a little time with you
Sunset beauty makes you feel as though
Your life has meaning after all
To see a sight so extraordinary
Makes you feel capable, strong and tall
It’s funny how flashes of color
Like a sunset or sunrise can inspire
It can calm your inner self a bit
It’s a scene you can never tire
The serenity gives you a chance
To put things in perspective
Life can be overwhelming at times
And a sunset can be reflective
So when the sky lights up next time
Let your gaze do some drinking
Soak up all the amazing sights
And do some sunset thinking! ~ Marilyn Lott

Overslept / So tired / If late / Get fired / Why bother? / Why the pain? / Just go home / Do it again ~ Norman Colp
The poem is an honest reflection of the tireless and tiresome daily commute . We seem to be in so much of hurry . We are running and running & the moment we reach our destination we start running again . There is one silver lining , we don’t have to bear the weather of #Delhi plus it rained today Thanks Metro .

Long Drawing Room (LDR), as the name suggests, is a long conference room of the Rashtrapati Bhavan where the President used to host the annual conferences of Governors/Lieutenant-Governors. This room is also used by the Hon’ble President to attend meetings with select groups and organizations. Situated near the Durbar Hall, the Long Drawing Room has two doors that open to the corridors of North Drawing Room and the South Drawing Room on either end.

I envisage an India where unity of purpose propels the common good ;
Where centre and state are driven by the single vision of good governance;
Where every revolution is green ;
Where democracy is not merely The right to vote once in five years but to speak always in the citizen’s interest; where the knowledge become wisdom;
where the young pour their phenomenal energy and talent into the collective cause .

#Iftar is one of the religious observances of #Ramadan and is often done as a community, with people gathering to break their fast together. Iftar is taken right after Maghrib time, which is around sunset. Many Muslims believe that feeding someone iftar as a form of charity is very rewarding and that such was practised by the Prophet Muhammad.

Still waiting for the iftaari.

#JamaMasjid ❤️. Someone should invite me for iftaari ❤️

‘I am neither in temple nor in mosque,’ they are dangerous places,
then, Kabir, why does this mosque look like the serendipitous places?

They tell me 'this courtyard can hold up to 25,000 believers,’
will there be room for one infidel in these stupendous places? 'Aman ♥ Rekha’ cut into the farthest edge of the minaret,
see how love happens only at the most precipitous places.

They give sarongs to cover our legs, robes to cover our hands,
He knows the body He lent us, why act so precious, places?

Six thousand workers, for a king, over six years, built it,
Take Akhil, for wazoo, their sweat, still in these pious places. ~Akhil Katyal
