This is one of the scenes in the film Two Women that proved Sophia was indeed capable of dramatic acting and it earned her her very first Academy Award. She became the first actor ever to win the Best Actress Academy Award for a role spoken in a foreign language.

Sophia Loren no longer owns the original Oscar she received in 1962 for her role in La Ciociara/Two Women (1960). The statue was stolen from her home in Italy. The Academy later replaced it for a small fee.

Matrimonio all'italiana/Marriage Italian Style (1964) will always be my favorite Sophia movie. I just love how you can see a woman, her character, transform during different stages in her life.
