thinking about the doctor and yaz dragging a double mattress out into the console room of the tardis so that they can have a sleepover (obv yaz’s suggestion, doctor thinks it’s ‘brilliant!’), sitting up in that bed with hot drinks and snacks and the tardis door open on a colourful galaxy, talking all night but time is relative and 4am doesn’t exist inside the tardis so nobody can judge them, and the next night it’s ‘ugh, i’m knackered, let’s just sleep here again and we’ll sort it in the morning’ because they’ve been doing so much running around and the thought of dragging that mattress back is enough to send them under, but they don’t sort it in the morning and come the night after that it’s not even questioned, they fall right into that double mattress without acknowledging it, and the next night… well, it’s not so much laziness, anymore, but comfort, because now that they’re used to falling asleep side by side, it just makes sense, doesn’t it? it’s economical. who needs two mattresses, anyway? when they can have one big one? and lie there talking until well into the night? like the best friends that they are? like the best gal pals that they are?
