No. 22 - THEY MADE ME DO IT

The paladins found Keith laying on the floor, they thought he was injured and hurried to get him into a healing pod. Only Keith wasn’t just injured, he was cursed by haggar. She had cursed him just before the others arrived. Keith wasn’t sure what the curse was he thought maybe it hadn’t worked. That was until this morning, he had this strange feeling someone was in his head.
Haggar was using Keith to see what the other paladins where doing there battle plans among other things. Now she had another purpose for the curse. The plan involves Keith killing his fellow paladins. Haggar was just waiting for the right moment.
It surprised the other paladins when Keith abruptly stood from his seat in the dining room. Keith’s face bared no emotion, it was cold even. He took his blade off of his belt and within a split second it was wedged into Shiro’s chest. He hadn’t meant to do that and the others could tell. There was a split second that Keith’s face screamed for help, he looked afraid almost. However he didn’t stop he pulled his blade out and watched as hunk carried Shiro to the healing pods blood still poring from his wound. The others quickly overpowered Keith and took him to the med bay where they strapped him to one of the beds. Of course non of them wanted to but they had no choice he might hurt himself or others.
Coran began examining Keith, once he was finished he called the paladins back into the med bay. Coran explained that he was cursed by strong magic presumably Haggars and that it must have happened when they found Keith laying on the ground. All the paladins where curious as to how they undo the curse. Coran knew how but unfortunately it was extremely painful. So instead of explaining he simply said “watch and you’ll see.”.
Coran placed one hand on Keith’s heart and the other on Keith’s forehead. He began mumbling something in Altean. Suddenly without warning Keith let out loud pain filled screams that echoed around the med bay. Keith’s screams didn’t let up until the very last second as Coran removed his hands from the now shaking paladin laying in front of him. All of a sudden it was like he had an realisation, his face overcome with shame,worry and guilt he blurted out in a hurried tone “Shiro is he alright, how could I do that to him. I’m a horrible person, please tell me he’s going to be ok ?”
Haggar had failed again but the paladins knew that this curse was by far not her last attempt. She’d be back …

Allura and lotor where in the quintessence field when Keith returns to the castle of lions. He looks stressed and it doesn’t take the paladins long to notice. Keith explains to them that lotor has been playing them to gain there trust. He catches them up on all the information he has gathered on motors plan.
The paladins and Keith stood around catching up waiting for lotors arrival. Once he enters the room with the princess they are all stood waiting for him. It doesn’t take long for lotor to figure out that they are onto him. At first he’s not sure what to do but then he sees the blade attached to alluras suit. He reaches for it and at first he thinks no one had seen him until the former red paladin was charging at him with his blade. Lotor being much taller than Keith had the advantage and simply knocked the blade from his hand.
Lotor dug the blade straight into Keith’s chest narrowly avoiding his heart. The other paladins don’t register what happened until Keith let’s out a gut wrenching scream. Lotor quickly pulls back the blade letting Keith drop to the floor before running out towards an escape pod. Keith was left laying in a pool of his own blood. Shiro and Coran where the first to react, running to Keith’s side.
Keith couldn’t describe the pain he felt in that moment. His lungs felt like they would explode at any moment. The pool of blood beneath him was only growing bigger. Thick red blood continued to spew out of his open chest. His breathing was quick and uneven which concerned Coran. Soon after reaching Keith’s side Shiro lifted him into his arms and quickly made his way to the healing pods. He suddenly grew concerned when Keith went limp in his arms, when he looked down he realised that his eyes were shut and his chest was barely rising. He yelled in a panicked tone for Coran to hurry up with setting up the pod. Once it was completely set up Shiro quickly and carefully placed Keith inside and allowed the pod to close.
Suddenly all the paladins realised that in there panic about Keith lotor somehow managed to escape. Now not only did they want him dead because he lied to them and used them he also almost killed one of their friends, a part of their family. There was no way any of the paladins where letting him get away with this.
