LIVE

Scenes from the trail, post Barra version.

Storm Arwen and now Storm Barra, the first two named storms of the season have passed through, dealing us a barely glancing blow.

Many folks further south were not so lucky; some remain without power a week later & the swift arrival of Barra must have been cruel blow to them.

Checking the trails today revealed a few windblown trees, two of which are blocking routes. I’m sure the ranger will deal with them swiftly.

The thaw is already underway, so Bailey and I will venture further afield tomorrow. Happy to have the snow back though, even if it was only for a few days.

Rain cascading down on another darkened summer day, Satan’s Blessings as the day seems to beckon the promise of winter - I hate the Summer … the noise, the intense brightness, the shallow sheep of the masses basking in the light of their own socially contrived images - I much prefer the winter with its dark embraces, stormy skies and snow covered barren landscapes reflecting the isolation of my Soul!

oh how thunderstorms have my heart

a quick guide on grounding with storms for storm witches

☔ to be done during a storm

☔  stay in a safe place when you practice this form of grounding. only allow yourself to get wet if your health allows, and please avoid places that would get you struck by lightning.

☔  have a view/hearing of the rain to the best of your ability

☔  visualize:

each thunder strike rattles you to the core, and leaves nothing there. each drop of water brings energy that replenishes and re-energizes you.

every drop is one of millions, but every drop has importance. each one soaks into you, cold and bright. it fills you

every sound of every drops rebuilds you from the inside out.

each lightning bolt ignites within you, calling up new energies and instilling a calm in its wake.

☔  when you are ready, let the storm fade its hold on you. you are not severing the ties harshly, only letting them fall away, the way rain dissipates and the storm calms down.
