Taeyang is grateful for this place, that they are allowed to the rooftop to catch a breath in an otherwise busy schedule. It’s secluded, it’s calm, and it’s a great opportunity to make acquainted with someone who happens to take a break at the same time—which, admittedly, doesn’t necessarily happen all that often. It has, obviously, but coming up here isn’t Taeyang’s first choice when he wants to relax. Most of the time, he would much rather find an empty practice room to dance.
He nods again, now agreeing to her comment. “I enjoy them too, the sound of a good rainstorm.” His smile lingers still, though having grown softer and more of a slight curve. It seems they have the exact same thought right now because he too feels as though everything happens fast—almost a little too fast, at times. When he stepped into this new life, Taeyang was positive that it wouldn’t be much of a challenge with the long days and busy schedules, he was already used to it.
He couldn’t be more wrong, though; being an idol trainee is something else entirely, it’s nothing alike what he was used to from before. “I agree, and I feel like this is the only place where I can just… have that moment.” He says, despite having an empty apartment waiting for him.
Taking a deep breath of the air that came with being just before a storm, Seulgi feels more relaxed than she had in months. It is refreshing in a way, like the storm was going to come and blow over and take all the stress away. She knows that that wasn’t likely, but the thought that that could be a possibility still was a nice one. Starting anew was what she felt like she needed going to Nova, why did she still feel it now that she was there?
“I like it so much that if we haven’t had a good one in a while, I’ll find some rain sounds online and play them to relax. It’s nice to fall asleep to, I think.” Granted, Seulgi rarely, if ever, needed any help getting to sleep, but it did make it that much more comfortable. Comfortable was something in short supply most days, it seemed, having to sleep in vans or backstage in the makeup chair. She could do it, but she’d much rather be curled up in bed.
She nods slowly, still taking in the scenery in front of them. “This is my first time up here,” she states quietly. “I’m still pretty new to the company and even though I’m here with my best friend, it seems strange because I trained somewhere else, so I feel like I almost am some sort of imposter or something… if that makes any sense at all, I don’t know, it probably doesn’t.”
Taeyang is pleasantly surprised when approached, having thought that maybe Seulgi would rather be alone right now, so he smiles when she comes over. His head lowers in another nod when introduction takes place, as to silently say that he agrees it’s nice to meet her too—from the looks of it, on his quest to meet more of the people in this company, he seems to only bump into those with similar interest as himself. At least that’s what he likes to believe, as they have either been lead or main dancers of their respective groups, or simply a dance focused trainee.
“Likewise, I’m Taeyang.” Yes, Taeyang, as in the sun itself. He doesn’t voice it out loud himself, but he is used to people pointing it out—being named like this, he always felt a kind of pressure to match the supposed description. His gaze shifts from Seulgi and out into the horizon, well… what he can see of it from his stance anyway, with buildings blocking his otherwise gorgeous view. “Yeah, it seems like it—and it really does feel calming, doesn’t it?” With lots on his mind, Taeyang instantly falls into thought when given the opportunity, staring out for a moment in awe.
“Are you taking a break from reality too?” He then asks, his smile lingering. It’s not like he feels a need to escape life’s responsibilities himself, but Taeyang has found it nice to simply disconnect at times. If anything, things are doing great right now, and it has yet to dawn upon him.
Seeing his smile and head nod, she knows it’s okay that she’s coming over, that she’s not interrupting a life-changing moment of solitariness. It’s nice, meeting someone else in the company, she really had only had an opportunity to join up with AND*ROMA most days, she had missed out on actually training at Nova, so she was the new kid, even if a lot of people had been training less time than she had when she debuted.
“Taeyang, cool.” she doesn’t mention the name, though she makes the association anyway. With her stage name that Nova chose for her referencing the girl she had kind of replaced in the group, Seulgi had had enough of people pointing out the meaning of it, so she figured he probably would be the same about his own name. She takes a deep breath and nods “It is, calming is a good thing, plus, I always like the sound of a good rain storm.”
The question brings a smile to her face as well. “Yeah, you could say that. Things always seem to be going a million miles an hour, it’s nice to just… enjoy a moment, you know?”
The clouds are threatening with rain, still Taeyang finds himself enjoying the eeriness from the flat roof area of the company building. It’s warm outside despite being gloomy, something he appreciates—he certainly doesn’t mind the beaming sun, sometimes it’s just nice to be protected with clouds rather than a thick layer of sticky sunscreen. No, he enjoys this too, he enjoys this a lot.
He notices that someone is escaping reality as well, though he can only assume that’s why they are on their way to one of the more secluded areas of the premises; it’s not the first time he meets someone here, to put it that way, so he instantly thinks whoever they are, they need a break from training. Or people, for that matter. Gazing back over his shoulder, Taeyang spots a female.
Notsome female, though; one of NOVA’s girl group idols. So far, he has only seen them on posters and on YouTube, despite having been a trainee for almost a full year now. They are busy, he supposes, and so is he. Smiling softly, he bows down right away to greet her first. “Hello, sunbae-nim!”
It’s one of the rare times this month that there’s a few hours without something to do, but even so, they’re told to stick to the Nova building so they wouldn’t have to hunt down the girls from all over Seoul in order to go to their next schedule. It’s a break that even though it’s restricted, Seulgi is more than happy to take.
She slips away from the other girls, something that she’s noticed she tends to do a little too often for someone who really should be trying to get to know them better, but even so, she makes her way up to the roof of the company, as she had always wanted to check out the skyline from up there. She used to do things like that often before she was a trainee, so it was almost like going home for her.
She finds herself moving towards the edge, actually enjoying the sun a bit after being in air conditioning for so long. She was so in her own little world that she almost doesn’t notice the guy standing there until he was greeting her. “Oh! Hi!” she says with a bow back to him, deciding to come over to him instead, she really didn’t know anyone in Nova aside from the girls, so she was happy to strike up conversation. “It’s nice to meet you, I’m Seulgi. Looks like rain coming up, right? I like it though, there’s a calm to it, isn’t there?”

Thor rides a chariot pulled along by two goats: Tanngnost (tooth-gnasher) & Tanngrisnir (tooth-grinder). According to many legends, the rumble of the chariot as it moved was heard to the people on earth as thunder.
His two goats had another use as well. They could provide an endless supply of meat, as once killed, Thor could simply wave Mjollnir over their skin and bring them back to life…..but only if the bones remained intact.
