The idea first started back in Nov 2020. One of the things that inspired me is SMITE, I love playing this MMORP game, because you play diverse characters from mythology. And another inspiration that I had is from Percy Jackson and the Olympians, that is the series that I’ve read when I was in High School. I also loved one of the most celebrated series of all time, Supernatural. If you’re not too familiar with the series, it’s not actually a gloomy, serious, dark tv series a lot of people may know. It has a LOT of goofy episodes and a lot of other AU-like themes, kind of like fanfiction. There are also gods involved in the series but they were only background characters.
As to why I chose vampires as my main characters is because of the game. I used to dislike them but playing them made me love their quirkiness! I haven’t watched nor read pop culture vampires from Vampire Diaries nor Twilight except from the baddies from Supernatural and the 90’s Dracula with Keanu Reeves. So they’re not so sparkly and I don’t want to sugar coat how they can be gory and scary.
Because I was influenced by Smite, PJatO, and SPN, I chose to insert various gods from mythology and how they’re corrupting the world so that the original characters I made would give light to there evilness. Of course, we wouldn’t put too much religion in it but I admit I did like the way Castlevania from Netflix portrayed the church’s dark side.

Nathan was standing outside, with an ashen face and he was shaking. He always knew what his boss was but this was the first time he saw him like that. Soon the wet sounds and tears of flesh died down and everything was eerily quiet.
“Is it over?”
When Toffee got out his shirt was bloodied as well as his face. He looked like he’d been in a massacre. Well, he is but only with one casualty. Nathan doesn’t even want to look inside.
“Sir!”
He stopped and whispered almost to himself, “I should’ve been this strict centuries before, but Natalia had done that for me instead. Now they’re all dead. Lost souls adrift at sea….and Nathan.” he turned to the man.
“You wouldn’t think of betraying me would you?”
“N-no, sir!”
“Good man. Clean up the mess will you? I’ll head back myself.”
