Jack, Michael, and an annotation which inevitably adds a smile once you know what was occurring out of shot!

A lovely little pair of pictures of the same two chaps, and not the first time I’ve seen such indecision over whether to wear or to hold a hat!

It’s near-impossible not to smile when looking at this adorable photograph from 1910s America, an arm draped from each direction around the neck of the cheerful chap in the middle, and a tickle of his ear by the tip of a tongue at the precise moment the picture was taken!

Two handsome well-dressed chaps circa 1870, posing with the rather unconvincing plaster rocks which seem to have been a staple of every 19th century photographer’s studio.

A tender image of deep affection; two handsome young gents share a bench, and an obvious close companionship, in the latter part of the 19th century.

A touching portrait, here, a trio of affectionate men in the early 1900s, each with a hand-tinted blush to their cheeks (most notable on the rosy-faced fellow to the left!), and what lovely button-up boots!

Amazing! These two are the same couple. The tintype is of my collection, the other close up I found on tumblr, and then did a google search to find a better version. 

They used the same studio too. This duo took their pictures on different days or they had an all-out photoshoot session. What a heart stopping find. This is making me incredibly happy.

Lovely to see another photograph enthusiast who enjoys matching up various shots of the same sitters just as much as I do!

Away from the outdoor nudes of 1890s Italy, which are so plentiful, and to a rarer sort of image - this from France, 1859, and displaying remarkable clarity and technical excellence for such an early photograph. The sitter is named only as ‘a student’, the original held in the collection of the Musée de Toulouse.

This perfectly charming early-20th-century studio photograph features a pair of very fetching young gentlemen in equally fetching hats!

Two extremely good-looking young chaps from Cadillac, Michigan, in the early part of the twentieth century. Note the fashionable satin-inset lapels on their smart double-breasted coats, and the matching bow ties - very well turned out indeed, sirs.
