[ submas x FFXIV ] the crystarium’s mysterious slayer of sin eaters. apparently the crystal exarch summoned him by mistake & he can’t remember anything before that, but he’s quickly become a hero to the people of the First and doesn’t take that for granted.

meanwhile, the summoning accident sent emmet to the source. he’s not really sure what he’s doing, but he’ll figure it out and find ingo. those ‘scion’ folks are verrrrrry helpful! yup!

Train siblings crying over train siblings.

Doodle inspired by this ask I got last night on my main blog, as well as this video (which I also cried over).

When you see this, I’m going to be in the cab of Strasburg #90, driving a steam locomotive like I’ve always wanted to.

I’ve loved trains my entire life. I wrote a whole essay about how they’ve always been something I’ve come back to again and again, which you can find on my main blog - but I’ve had to hide this interest for a lot of my life because I knew my peers would make fun of me growing up. Later, when I got my autism diagnosis, I felt like I had to keep hiding it because it was a stereotype. Here and there, it’s come out in places (read: 2014), but it always went back into hiding.

But this feels different - the way you all love Ingo and Emmet for who they are has helped me finally embrace this part of myself again, the way I did when I was a little kid, and now I’m going to finally live that little girl’s dream. She’s going to drive the train nearly 30 years after she started wanting to do this. I cannot thank the two of them - and all of you - enough for finally allowing me to be myself after all this time. It means so, so much to me.

It took them approximately 37 takes, but they eventually got it.

The quote Ingo’s trying and failing to get out is actually the dialogue from the heritage unit guy, which, if you’re a train person, has some God-tier funny lines in it, including the masterpiece “That whistle gave me the chills! And the chills have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the air temperature here today! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!”

Anyway, yeah, great way to ruin the ambience in Anville Town when the Redbird is out on the turntable.

Some sloppy sketches for the most part, but I can only interact with things through parody so there you go. Basically, there’s a lot of art of people restraining Ingo for some reason or another so I poked fun at it and let Emmet be a troll.

Emmet Has No Filter, Part 1 of…however many things I end up drawing.

(For non-New Yorkers, yes, the Second Avenue Subway actually took over 90 years to come to fruition - it was first announced/proposed in 1920…and the first phase opened in 2017. So yeah, using Trick Room to make it “go first” is almost logical at this point.)

I said I would color this, and I did! Like…over a month after I actually drew it. Whoops. But I got to it!
