As a real note please stop using prima guides as your only source of this statement, prima guides not only are not canon they are well know for spread wrong info of the games they make. They even state what they put in their guides is not accurate of the canon game. Nintendo has never said they are related in fact even if the few “lore” of SMB they being related DONT make sense. And nintendo has only stayed they are “closed best friends”
