How to submit your assignments
Send the below to [email protected] and we will reply with confirmation that your assignment has been received. All assignments must be submitted via email.
Subject header
State who you are and whom your gift is for
Eg.Gift from Catwoman for Vampiress
In the body of the email, copy and paste the following with your information:
Title: (If applicable, you can also leave it untitled)Rating: (Please choose between General, Mature, Explicit)

A/N: (Artist/author notes go here, but not obligatory)
Fic* – please attach file to email as word doc

Pleasedo not deviate from the format of the information laid out above as having to rearrange will delay posting preparations. We have tried to make everything as clear cut and easy as possible.
*Please note that all fic must be beta’d and formatted correctly.
This means adding html for bold/italics etc. (Bold <b></b> Italics <i></i> etc.) We’ve had participants in the past submit blocks of text without proper spacing or which have just been double spaced, or added an automatic space after the paragraph. This won’t work when it’s time for us to copy/paste your work onto DW as your text will lose all automatic formatting.

How Superbat Exchange will work
Happy to report we’ve got a healthy sign up already going so it’s looking like it will be an exciting event!
So, we’d like to share some more information about how the event will work.
As this is an anon gift exchange we have to do things a little differently – but just as fun! We promise.
Because submissions are not posted directly by the creators until after reveals, all works are submitted to [email protected] on the 30thNovember 2019. (There will be posts closer to the time on how to submit and what to include.)
We check the submissions and get submissions ready for posting week which will take place from 9th– 13thDecember.
Gifts will be spread out over the five days and posted to Superbat Exhange. As soon as all the posts for that day are live, we post to our Tumblr with that day’s line up of posts all linked up for you.
Each entry will be labelled as ‘Gift for’ followed by handle of the participant it is for.
Why Dreamwidth?
We’re mindful of word length limits on Tumblr and also their TOS on explicit works, so for this we have our Superbat Exchange Dreamwidth account. Dreamwidth also has a built in system that allows us to upload images so it works for authors and artists!
But the best part is that it enables us to post explicit content (if necessary), slap a proper warning on it that means you can only view the content if you choose to and still have it be accessible to everyone without the need for everyone to log in.
So if you’re worried about having to sign up for Dreamwidth, please don’t, it’s really not necessary! You’ll be able to view and comment on content regardless.
What happens after this?
On reveal day, we edit the Dreamwidth entries so that each one has their creator revealed. The reveal list is then posted both to Tumblr and Dreamwidth and from here, you can start posting your gift under your own name. We’ll reblog your entries here on Tumblr and also hope that you’ll add it to our AO3 collection.
Does this work?
Yes! We have run a gift exchange in the same way last year and it was great fun and the added suspense of who created what, added a little touch of extra something something.
We’re super excited about this event and hope that this is the start of a regular event that will be one to watch out for again the next year so…

WRITERS
1. Stories must be a minimum length of 1,500 words.
2. Stories may contain other side pairings or past pairings including Clark and Bruce.
3. Stories cannot be posted on your own blog/site until after the reveal.
4. Stories must be betaed (this includes SPaG & formatting).
ARTISTS
1. Art pieces must be at a minimum, a complete, clean lineart and videos must be a minimum of 60 seconds.
2. Clark and Bruce must be the focus of the art piece (unless, in the case of a comic or more extensive piece, either of the main pairing characters, are being depicted in a past relationship.)
3. Art cannot be posted on your own blog/site until after the reveal.
BETAS
1. In addition to SPaG, we ask our betas to check the formatting of the text (eg. one line spaces between paragraphs etc.).

What is Superbat Exchange?
This is an anonymous art and fic gift exchange for the pairing of Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne.
Are any other pairings acceptable?
Yes, as side pairings or past relationships. The end game pairing must be Clark Kent/Bruce Wayne.
What universe can I set my work in?
Any DC universe you like, as long as it features any DC incarnations of Clark and Bruce. AU’s are also allowed.
Is there a minimum requirement?
Yes, there is a minimum of 1500 words required for fic and a full clean lineart piece for art pieces, videos must be a minimum of 60 seconds. All works must be complete and a standalone. This means it cannot be part of an existing art/fic series.
Can I contact our giftee for more information?
No, this is an anonymous exchange and creators are only revealed at the end, so you must not contact the person you are producing for. If you need clarification on any of the prompts, you can e-mail [email protected] and we will pass on the query for you.
I’ve finished my work, can I post it?
No, as this is an anon exchange, please do not post your work at any time until after reveals. Submissions are sent to [email protected] and will be posted by superbatexchange anonymously until the reveal post is up (please see event schedule).
Assignments have already been sent out but I haven’t received mine.
Just drop us an email or you could always drop us a DM on Tumblr and we will look into it right away.
I’ve received my assignment but I’m going to have to pull out of the exchange.
Life happens, we understand! Just please let us know as soon as possible so that we can get another participant to pinch-hit.

About today: You have until midnight your time to submit your assignment. Please check out our how to submit post and ensure that everything is correctly formatted. We will do a check in case you’ve missed something by chance and if any issues, we’ll flag it with you.
If you’re struggling and you don’t think you’ll finish on time, please, please, please contact us ASAP so we can work with you. This is supposed to be fun, not stressful so we’ll do our best to support.
We will be sending out an email to those who indidcated they could pinch-hit to see if they are still available to cover a dropped assignment. If at the time you didn’t think you’d be able to pinch-hit but now you think you can, please drop us a DM so we know you’re available.
