And also posted this one on my new Instagram!
Being in a rush was a common thing for Kara, Supergirl took time, effort, and a good amount of food intake. She was used to apologizing, making up for it, and pretending like she was just very bad at time managing.
But Lena was Lena.
“Sorry I’m late”
“I know,” she always replied “you did great.”
And that was usually the conversation. Lena would have followed the news, ordered in their favorite food, and prepared to hug her until all the phantom soreness of the strain of being a superhero faded out.
Every time a soft reassurance. A kind touch. And gentle gesture. Because she knew, because she cared.
But that didn’t mean that Kara wouldn’t apologize profusely each and every time.

“Is this the box you said you have been wanting to try for a few months now, but in a heart shape?” Asked Lena in a slow tone.
“I will neither confirm, nor deny that fact” replied Kara in fast haste. “Shall we get to our table?”
They both reached their seat, Kara gallantly helping her girlfriend into her chair before sitting down herself.
“Did you get me this box to get to eat half of it yourself?” Lena stayed onto the subject, pressing for an answer.
“Interesting theory…”
“Kara!”
“Okay, okay! Maybe. But I also got you flowers, and I’m not eating those.”
