Surge x Blaze can and should have a similar dynamic to sonadow only difference is that their ship name is impossible because they got very incompatible names and any name I can come up with is awful
been over a week since the issue’s come out, so I figure it’s ok by now to post this- the quick sketch concept of how Surge looks with spikes down as shown in IDW Sonic Imposter Syndrome #3, plus a better look at the inner Frame Dr. Starline showed in page 1. Might post some concept art for the latter in a few months, for now I think I couldn’t convey the concept very well and people are a bit confused on what the deal is, and I’m afraid the concept art might confuse them further.
it’s funny to me that it seems the biggest contribution I’ve done for the fandom’s interpretation of surge, beyond designing her, was giving her that limp-wristed pose in the poses sheet lol
On top of acquiring a DNA sample from Tails, Starline also accessed Neo Metal Sonic’s bio-data on Sonic and Shadow and applied his knowledge of power cores to enhance Surge and Kit. This was implied during Imposter Syndrome…
But it was only confirmed in the 2022 FCBD issue’s recap story.
Which makes me wonder why it was confirmed here rather than in Imposter Syndrome itself. Is it going to be relevant in the future and going to be addressed then? Or was it just not mentioned because it’s a minor detail and I’m overthinking things?
It was hinted at before, but we now have confirmation that Starline used Neo Metal Sonic’s bio-data of Sonic and Shadow to biomechanically enhance Surge.
But that does bring up an interesting question. At the end of the Battle for Angel Island, that data was corrupted when Neo Metal Sonic was beaten and returned to his base form.
So did he simply find a way to reconstruct it like he first suggested? Could he even reconstruct the corrupted data? Will that play a part in what’s to come, or am I just overthinking things?
