Happy 8th Anniversary Tales of Xillia!
It’s my favorite Tales Of Series game along with Symphonia, the first Tales game that I played and loved the most.
Oh, btw, while I was away I finished both Tales of Xillia and Tales of Xillia 2.
I have a few problems with the mechanics and the pace (especially for Xillia 2, some things are great, some aren’t), but storywise, both games were fantastic experiences. And Xillia 2 was an emotional rollercoaster I didn’t expect at all. The true ending was downright cruel and beautiful.
If I already loved the series since Abyss, Xillia just made me sure it’s one of my favorite franchises ever. I felt so involved with the characters. Milla’s passion, Jude’s kindness, Ludger’s bravery, all of it left a deep impression on me. And I might actually write something about this game? Maybe that was the chance I needed to start writing fanfiction again?
And Alvin Svent is my husband even though he’s an asshole. Period.
And there is no possible way you will convince me Jude Mathis is 100% straight. He gets flustered with Alvin in the first game and he shows the biggest crush on Ludger in the second game. Yeah I know he loves Milla but there’s this beautiful concept of *bisexuality* and I’m so okay with it.
