JOMP BPC | January 5: Hardcover or Paperback?

Evidently, I’m very much a paperback kinda girl…

Shelf-Confidence BPC | January 2: First Lines

Lolitawas a strange book to read, but I have to admit the way language is used is so clever. Just read the first paragraph out loud. My English-major-brain went, “Yes! The alliteration!!”

Hope everyone had a fulfilling end to their 2021 and a lovely start to their 2022!

Personal Notes

  • I feel like the winter holidays is when I usually catch up on a lot of reading and books since I don’t go anywhere and have the apartment to myself. This year though, I did take a short trip to Chicago and then had a friend over so I haven’t really had any alone time. A change but not an unpleasant one, I must say. I still managed to squeeze in two extra reads though. And my friend is also very much a book nerd, so obviously he was enabling my impulsive book purchases…
  • I’m not much of a classics kinda girl so I’m a little nervous about the English courses I’ll be taking next semester, “British Romantic Poetry” and “1830s-1900s Literature.” The professors come highly recommended though so fingers crossed that I’ll still have fun!

JOMP BPC | December 25: Book Haul

I don’t actually buy books that often so here are all the new ones I’ve gotten since I moved into my new place in late August. Most I bought from the thrift store but I got Malibu Rising,The Invisible Life of Addie LaRueandDr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde for free from the library!
