i was trying to think of a taraprowl role reversal AU setup and was like. prowl didn’t go to deal with mesothulas personally, he would never tbh, how would he wind up in a position to get chucked in the noisemaze?
and i realized he wouldn’t: mesothulas would gradually start to realize he was losing prowl’s confidence and begin to doubt the stability of their partnership, and before things could slip completely out of his control and prowl could do something… rash… he’d put him in the positive reinforcement prison. just for a while. just til he works out how to fix things.
he keeps trying to insert himself into prowl’s perfect world to show him how great they work together but every time he DOES it messes the whole thing up and destabilises and he’s losing his mind seeing over and over just how thoroughly prowl’s plan for his ideal life once this war is over has no place whatsoever for him in it by design, and prowl always planned to sweep him under the rug in the aftermath.
