This is completely random, but I have a memory that I wanted to share, it was right after I attended the red tour in 2013 and the show was over and my dad and I had just made it home. I went that entire night at the concert not crying, but as soon as I got home, I just started bawling, and my dad asked me “what’s wrong, I thought you’d be all smiles after seeing your favorite person in concert, and I said to him “I am happy, more than ever, it’s just that tonight was so surreal”, I was just filled with so many emotions knowing that I was just in the same building as Taylor Swift, and being who I was, a shy african american girl that was always picked on because I loved Taylor Swift, it sounds completely insane, but other people would find it funny that I was black girl that loved Taylor Swift. But in that moment when I was sitting (well standing because it was a concert) in Amalie Arena watching THE Taylor Swift perform right in front of me, I didn’t care what others thought. I was just happy.

I get choked on “You kept me like a secret but I kept you like an oath”
I just can’t wait for @taylorswift to re-record her music.
“my tears ricochet” is about Scott Borchetta
Evidence:
“And if I’m on fire, you'll be made of ashes, too”
The success of Taylor’s music (and therefore Scott’s future with her old music) is just as dependent on her future as it is on her past. He is still tied to Taylor through this.
“I didn’t have it in myself to go with grace/And you’re the hero flying around, saving face”
Taylor could have let the whole issue be and made a clean break, but that’s not her. And Scott’s the one trying to keep the whole deal he made together. Example A:
“We gather stones, never knowing what they’ll mean/Some to throw, some to make a diamond ring/You know I didn’t want to have to haunt you/But what a ghostly scene/You wear the same jewels that I gave you/As you bury me”
In this verse, she’s referring to writing songs. Songs are stones, and Taylor has done the work writing/gathering all of them, not just the good ones. She’s the one that refined them into gemstones and jewels, and she entrusted them to him. And he will keep on using them even though he has demonstrated that he no longer cares about Taylor.
“And if I’m dead to you, why are you at the wake?/Cursing my name, wishing I stayed”
Here, it’s saying Scott can’t seriously in good conscience give her a good send-off if he clearly doesn’t care about her wishes. And he’s trying to put on a professional and respectful face while he’s insulting her, likely wishing she was still under his thumb.
“And I can go anywhere I want/Anywhere I want, just not home”
She’s free to do what she wants, but she can’t go back to the place where she got her start and grew and learned about the music industry.
“And when you can’t sleep at night (You hear my stolen lullabies)”
This one is a major nod to the songs that he stole from her.
“And you’re tossing out blame, drunk on this pain/Crossing out the good years”
Everything good he’d done, all the better times they’d had was canceled out and tainted by his greed.
In conclusion: what a hell of a track 5 she made this one, Scott Borchetta’s reputation found dead in Miami
