Triplets in a little starter home that I just extended slightly to fit a nursery
So we just went from a cute little family of three (they have an adorable German Shepard that just aged up into an adult from a puppy a day before she gave birth) to a family of six! SIX! I’m not prepared! I’m done! I’m going to bed now…
sylki is just as bad as thorki, except at least thorki doesn’t have canon romantic undertones or an actual chance at becoming canon
I think that’s why I hate sylki so much, because with most inc*st ships it’s just a few people in the fandom being weird and even if it becomes popular in the fandom it’s never validated by canon so it’s easy to avoid and ignore the ship.
Also, sylki is inc*st, I’ve seen people try to argue it isn’t but it is. Even if it isn’t self-cest because they’re “different people”, then they still have the same exact parents with the exact same dna. They’re still biologically siblings even if they weren’t raised together.
Marvel has had some really bad romantic plots before and I usually don’t really care, but it looks like they’re trying to push a literal inc*stuous ship on-screen, which is just, no.

Just so we’re clear… Mobius could have picked any bad memory for loki’s prison, God knows loki has enough of them, and he picked one where loki was at home, on Asgard after playing a prank.
Not the memory of him finding out he’s a frost giant.
Not the memory of him falling from the bifrost.
Not a memory of him being tortured by Thanos.
Mobius sent him home.
He put him in a time loop of being beaten up and told that he deserves to be alone to break him down psychologically and it worked. On a meta-narrative level that was the memory because Jaimie Alexander was who was available to film the scene but within the story he chose that memory because of what he wanted Loki to internalise: that he is undeserving of love and will always be alone. That is the entire point of that time loop. It is not in any way an act of kindness and it’s fucked up to frame it as one, or to act like some people in the notes as if it’s a positive thing for Loki psychologically that he ends up on his knees apologising to someone who — by dint of not being real — cannot actually accept that apology from him.
You can try to say that Mobius didn’t have a choice because he had to “play along” with the TVA so he tried to choose a nice memory but (1) the only two people who knew what the content of that time cell was were Mobius and Loki, he could in fact have put Loki in an actual good memory or somewhere neutral rather than giving him the “pathetic worm” special, and (2) he laughs as he is putting Loki in.
Try to be told that you deserve to be alone a million fucking times and also being beaten up. Oh, yeah, sure Mobius the Saint was totally looking after Loki by putting him in that time loop.

Right. Okay. I don’t usually reply to comments but here we go…
First off, sure, loki gets a kick in the nuts a few times. Not exactly fun, that’s true. But this is the guy who was thrown around by the hulk and was cracking jokes like five minutes after. It’s fair to say that would not have been too painful for Loki, relatively speaking. To be fair, I have not been kneed in the balls so I can’t speak, but I’m almost certain that being shaken like a rag doll by hulk, or enduring systematic torture from Thanos, or being hit with mjolnir would have been a lot more painful. Also, is loki experiencing new pain or just reliving the memory of pain from when this originally happened?
Secondly, Mobius was definitely being monitored. Or, at the very least, believed he was. “Timekeepers are watching” is a hint that Mobius believes that his every action was being watched. Also, if a time cell is meant to be the TVA’s prison cell, then surely these would be under constant supervision to make sure their prisoners weren’t trying to escape? Probably not a coincidence that Renslayer was waiting for Mobius the second he and loki exited the time cell. Even though she knew Mobius had switched the tempads, she knew immediately knew that Mobius was planning on betraying the TVA. And hunter B15 took Sylvie to an apocalypse, not a time cell when asking her about the memories as apocalypses are proven TVA blind spots while time cells are not. Mobius had to choose a memory that appeared to demonstrate how he was “working his loki”. Don’t think he could have gotten away with a memory of loki playing with a load of puppies or going to town on a big pile of nuts and grapes.
My main point concerns why Mobius picked a memory where loki is told he will always be alone. Obviously, this isn’t exactly pleasant but, presumably loki has heard way worse. His own adopted father told him is birth right was to die, for example. (After this variants nexus event but I would bet Odin has been saying this type of shit to loki for centuries.) This is coming from Sif who Loki doesn’t exactly hold in high regard so I doubt he really cares what she thinks. In fact, apart from his family, loki doesn’t really care about what most of Asgard thinks about him which could be an essay in itself. Loki even says this himself, by stating he never thought about it ever again. This bit is my really main point, I promise. Mobius wants loki to think about Sif’s words, to consider if he really deserves to be alone. In my opinion, loki didn’t think about Sif’s words because he believed them and accepted that he would be alone. We never see him form any relationships, romantic or otherwise, and he even admits that he betrays his family which leads to the breakdown of these relationships too. Loki believes he deserves to be alone so does nothing to maintain relationships. Until Mobius.
Whether you ship them or not, Mobius and Sylvie are the first relationships we see Loki fight to preserve. When Mobius asks Loki if he believes he deserves to be alone, loki sates he is unsure. However, by the end of the episode Loki is willing to tell Sylvie his feelings for her, something which is ‘new’ to him after previously denying his relationship with her to Mobius. He also goes on to acknowledge his friendship with Mobius. For the first time, we see Loki actively trying to build relationships with those around him rather than push them away.
Mobius wanted loki to accept that he is worthy of love and happiness. That is why he put him in that time cell. Loki needed to re-evaluate his internalised self-hatred so that he could embrace the new relationships being extended to him… Small price to pay for a knee to the bollucks in my opinion…
i demand the lucky one, this is why we can’t have nice things and the last great american dynasty be made into a film series and volunteer to sit on the sets for free

Some asshat updated the wiki with Kingdom hearts 3 leaks! So if you’re looking for info on the other games I’d suggest avoiding the wiki. ESPECIALLY CHARACTER BIOS! I’d hate for someone to be spoiled about a character death from the wiki of all things.
i cannot believe that i am only now learning about the dinosaur king drama
in case you’ve never heard of dinosaur king:
it’s a pretty mediocre anime from the early 90s, that was pretty much just made to market this dinosaur trading card game. the plot was extremely boring (until stuff suddenly started happening around episode 35), and for some reason they decided to have all the dinosaur fights with these incredibly stiff 3d models, which was.. a choice..
all together it was so bad that it’s good (but not particularly good), and kinda forgettable
and then they decided that it needed a remake. they were releasing some new toys, and a video game was being worked on, so in 1999 they released a fucking remake of that weird show
the writers and producers were these two austrian guys, suppenheimer and vemovich
the remake was planned to be two seasons
the original dinosaur king had two seasons as well, the first had 49 episodes, and the second had 30 episodes
the remake was 60 episodes total, and completely ignored season two of the original
suppenheimer and vemovich only retold season one, expanded it a bit, reshuffled some events (namely putting the twist from episode 35 way earlier), giving the characters actual motivations… they actually managed to make the show good
(they still kept in the weird 3d dinosaurs, and the card game tie-ins, because at the core the show was still about marketing the toys)
and then season two ended, neatly tying up the story, and it was genuinely good
and then the network renewed the show for a third season
suppenheimer was done with the show at that point. they only ever wanted to make two seasons, and they had told exactly the story that they wanted to tell, so they were out
but vemovich wasn’t done yet, so he stayed on and wrote season three.
and season four.
and…
the entire remake turned out to be twenty seasons long
and it got weird, lemme tell you
the very first thing vemovich introduced in season three of dinosaur king, the anime about dinosaurs and traveling to the ancient past, was alien space pirates
which i guess makes sense, because they can travel through time, so the future is technically also viable
and then season six was all about one of the main characters becoming a werewolf? which was never fixed, but they also just never mention it at any point after the season six finale
season eleven was all about the love story between one of the supporting cast and one of the antagonists (who had a redemption arc early in season two, but vemovich cast him as a villain again anyway starting in season four)
season sixteen only had one episode where any dinosaurs appeared?? in a show called dinosaur king? and i’m pretty sure they said the word “dinosaur” zero times in that entire season
it was weird, okay, the entire remake was weird after season two
meanwhile, on the forums (and later on twitter), suppenheimer has completely divorced themselves from the show’s production, but they are definitely still watching, and loudly complaining
suppenheimer and vemovich were actually said to be on pretty good terms during the production of the first two seasons, but after that suppenheimer got mean

so, i’ve said that this entire thing is an anime with weird 3d dinosaurs inserted into it
the big bad, the last villain that was threatening to destroy the fabric of reality… was suppenheimer
a live action suppenheimer, who is greenscreened into the anime world
he is of course stopped by vemovich’s author insert, who up to that point had been 2d animated, but now he is also greenscreened into the show
so the goddamn epic finale of the show is a live action suppenheimer and vemovich fighting, using 3d animated dinosaurs, on this 2d animated battlefield
it looked bad
and then the show is over
but this story is still going
because suppenheimer has spent the last eighteen years tearing apart the show and tearing apart vemovich publicly at least once per week
and then, two years after the show is over
those bastards tweet out that they are married

You should give these sources a good read-through either way because in all honesty, OP missed out on some prime groundbreaking material. For example, the fact that this show’s depiction of an ankylosaurus is thought to be the most accurate depiction of ankylosaurs in the 20th Century. Or how those first 2 seasons somehow have the lowest overall score of the series on IMDB and other rating systems, despite the controversy of later seasons (which might not seem like much, but it at least explains why none of the aforementioned petitions had any effect).
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Like yes the marriage Twitter reveal was really something, but it should not overshadow these absolutely mind boggling stats that come from such a niche 90s anime.

Yes. Because that was a wildly entertaining story that has EARNED that click.
I’m really fucking disappointed in my timeline, tumblr and social media in general. A fantastic Marvel movie was released with a POC as the lead and a gorgeous homage to the Asian culture weaved into an embarrassment of visual riches and a solid story in Shang Chi. And in spite of it all Shang Chihas had little to no fanfare from where I’m standing. It wasn’t advertised nearly as much as previous movies and I’m not seeing the outpouring of love like we saw for even the TV show Loki. This is garbage.
