reminder that your abuse is still valid. That it’s still abuse even though you weren’t living together.
It’s still abuse even if ‘I should have known better’
or ‘I should have left sooner.’
Your experience is valid.
to everyone in general-
this is your reminder to listen to the teens in your life and take them seriously when they approach you with relationship issues.
I know it’s easy to wave it off as teenage drama… but abuse is abuse no matter what age it comes from.
and a lot of teens won’t speak up about the abuse itself because they’re ashamed- sometimes you have to listen between the lines.
