so you’re telling me that all that time niles was fran and maxwell’s number 1 shipper, constantly trying to get them to sort their shit out and vehemently celebrating whenever a step in the right direction was taken…. was not exactly due to the emptiness of his own boring life or his love of gossip or even a feeling of cumplicity among the help, but because mostly he needed miss C.C. babcock to realise max didn’t love her? and then, once it did finally dawn on her, he, niles, could finally tell her how he felt? the fact that niles had actual stakes in the story adds a whole new layer to the show
