Both important father figures from the human and demon realms with a lone, last-of-his kind son, a Clawthorne who is learning about and discovering the heritage he never even knew about; While confronting the respective murderer who still holds a grudge even after all this time, both from the same respective realm as the victim!
What if the Collector is like King. In that they’re both little kids with enormous power. What if the Collector is what King becomes; He outlived all his friends and the loneliness and despair drove them mad??? And King could offer friendship to the Collector by being someone who won’t leave their side as a long-living Titan, maybe compelling them to not NEED to be free and kill all of King’s loved ones to do so, because all they need is King!
And they’ll be best friends forever; Because King has also angsted over Luz leaving and accepted it, hence why he wanted to find his biological family who would hopefully always be there for him! And so Luz and Belos are both human friends to these kids… But while Luz will always visit and remember, Belos doesn’t care and is manipulating this kid as he manipulated Hunter.
But who knows, after seeing Belos, I’m wary of the Collector being sympathetic… But if the Collector DOES betray Belos, he’s probably going to compare it to Wittebro leaving him for a person of the Demon Realm too; And since HE seems to be a manchild, it’ll be like losing his own brother!
I mean. Dana DOES love Pokemon. The Collector likes to ‘collect’ creatures like a Pokemon trainer would. They come from another dimension as an eldritch entity who ascribes to different rules, like the Ultra Beasts and their space motif; Who debuted in Pokemon Sun and Moon, which gave us Lunala and Solgaleo! And then had Necrozma, which turns dark but also LIGHT… I’ve considered the idea of a Pokemon AU Luz with Ultra Necrozma because of their shared elements but. HMMM…
Everyone is going to talk and is already talking about the connection made between King and the Collector and how they and Belos are going to go after him.
But come place your bets with me that King and The Collector are gonna become friends, because I’m going all in.

As soon as I saw the opening sequence I knew these two are going to team up sometime. King’s Tide.
…If King will outlive everyone what if the Collector uses his immortal lifespan to promise to be a friend who will never leave, after King angsted over and accepted Luz leaving him, hence his search for his biological family who he hoped wouldn’t?
You know what is delicious irony? That Belos in his last act of backstabbing the Collector, throws him down to the pit with the Golden Guard bodies, the other victims of his lies. Only for the plate, in the unlikeliest of chances, to be “caught” by them. The GGs symbolically doing one last bit of defiance against Belos, one that ultimately ruins him.
I think that after King is left alone with the Collector on the Boiling Isles, he’ll explain the owl house game he made up as “an adventure game” where he lets the Collector play Luz as they all reenact the events of the first season or so (with a few character substitutions)
All right but what if the Collector and King’s relationship is just a dark parallel to Luz and King’s back in the beginning of Season 1. With messed up callbacks to humorous moments like “Eda! Who is this monster?!” Or “I am NOT your cutie pie!” “Yes you are!” “…I KNOW,” as the Collector just squees and obsesses over King like Luz did. But unlike Luz he never has a The Intruder moment… Where he recognizes that King is still fully his own person with agency who wants to be taken seriously and listened to, to have his wants acknowledged.
He’s like any kid who sees a cute puppy or kitten as just a toy to play with, and not a complex living creature with its own needs or wants that has to be treated as such. King isn’t just some toy that the Collector can neglect and throw in the closet when he’s not interested, he’s a friend who will need attention, just as the Collector demanded so much of it himself! The kid is gonna need to empathize with King, which…

Oh, and I guess Amphibia may as well be canon in this show with Camila reading an article about Anne Boonchuy (still in her own art style) being a hoax, which tracks with how Frogvasion was speculated to be as such ten years after the fact, or by the time of this finale, NINE years after the fact! We got Camila and Vee… My beloveds! And the human rain was a nice touch.
God. Luz just laying it into Belos. Calling him a hypocrite. Him, acting like he’s saving Luz, projecting his ‘failures’ with Wittebro onto her. Luz outsmarting him, Belos becoming backstabbed as he always deserved to be, after doing the same to so many others… And as I guessed, he’s now a monstrous crpytid hiding in Gravesfield, about to be the monster that humans hunt! If freaking Jacob Hopkins does him in…
Collector Luz ain’t canon! Good for Luz. And King…? We don’t know. FUCK I thought Luz and King would really stay in there, but I guess not? God that Collector is freaking terrifying… Instantly finger-flicks Belos into a puddle like THAT. Had to be sealed away by THE Titan… And what are his games!? He can rearrange the stars like that, he’s… He’s honestly closer to the omnipotent god that Belos claimed to serve, not that he’d acknowledge it!
Kikimora said he was from the stars and that detail of her always surviving, always hiding to listen to Belos when he thought no one was watching… GOD I love that. She’s such a backstabber but she backstabbed the right guy this time. And GUS… GUS, god he’s the youngest! He recognizes human rain first as fitting but he cries because he’s TWELVE, at most nearing thirteen! He came in clutch shocking Belos with his own memories…
And PHILIP. Trying to guilt-trip Hunter, that bastard! Only for Flapjack to be seen, and for Philip’s true rage to betray the true façade as it emerges! He got covenbound, a karmic fate… But he’s still alive. He might still have magic from the palismen he ate, but any glyphs won’t work for him! In fact, the ONLY ones who have magic are Willow, Gus, Amity, and the palismen! Speaking of which, that moment of them together was so sweet… And Clover acting on Willow’s behalf to support her friends in a moment of crisis was SUCH a wonderful moment for her arc!
…Fuck man. Will we get a bit of a timeskip? Will Luz get to go on a human date with Amity as they wait and figure out how to undo things? Camila gets to meet the girlfriend… AND HUNTER, he’s in Gravesfield! He’ll recognize the Golden Guard sigil, he’ll probably confront Jacob over it, and we get more Wittebro lore and maybe a flashback!
I like the brief touch of Alador still being snappish towards Hunter. Obviously he doesn’t know this Golden Guard like the other kids, but it still shows that yes, he WAS the Alador who told Amity to break ties with Willow and threatened her with Odalia. He’s learning, and Alador’s sacrifice… I’m sure he’ll be okay, but. UGH. The fact that King’s crack is from what is likely some sort of concussion…
The symbol! King’s symbol is a SPELL, meant to hide the presence of Titans! That’s why it was carved all over the temple by his father, over the window meant to let in moonlight; It was a spell to HIDE him! And that’s why the Collector never saw King, it probably saved his life or else the Collector would’ve brought it up to Belos back in OTWAT, and Belos would’ve seized King for his blood!
Oh god… The Collector is gonna remake reality in his image, isn’t he? Will he include the Titan Trappers in on his game, what KIND of game are we talking about!? Is he hunting people for sport I… GOD, we guessed it! King would try to free the Collector thinking he’s a fellow victim to stop Belos, and they do, only to get something MAYBE EVEN WORSE. The Collector is from the stars as Kikimora said, what IS he?!
Raeda… The way Raine removed Eda’s hand. Is she gonna be missing her right hand from now, is my theory on amputee Eda correct? GOD she’s lost so much… And the way Raine resigns themselves, but King saved them! For now… Oh man oh fuck. I’m so scared to see what the Collector will do with this world. He didn’t crack open King’s head but he did crack open his FATHER’s. Season 3 will likely involve our witch protagonists trying to band up against the Collector, if they even can…!
I just. Well, at least we got the coven heads, though I’m skeptical season 3 will follow up on the rest, which hurts me! I love that the crew at least gave us a show of their magic and a bit of personality or something… Oracle Head can cast messed up ghosts like Odalia. ULRICH, poor Ulrich got his face BITTEN by Eberwolf’s flesh beetles… Potion Head DOES have a mouth they use to spit acid, that’s awesome! Maybe the irony with him is that he drinks liquids only to throw them up at others! And the Healing Head had a SCALPEL, I love it!
Darius! Nnnooo… The others aren’t the only ones to mess up the plan to save their best bud; He could’ve let Eberwolf die so Darius could stop the spell, but he couldn’t! He froze… God, I hope we get to see the coven heads band together. We didn’t get any insight on how Terra knew besides having suspected, which might just be that. But it makes me wonder if we’ll see the coven heads team up and have to save the isles they so royally screwed over…
And Luz. God, Luz almost being petrified… Her family members got in on it but SHE was left out, that was so messed up. She could’ve been discovered like that. But she was SMART dammit, appealed to Philip’s insecurities over the human world changing, as the Collector taunted him over! She knows Philip now, she called him a hypocrite, I LOVE IT and I need Luz and Hunter to learn more about the Wittebane brothers, so they can put two and two together and call out Philip over it! Fuck man… If Monster Philip sees a statue of himself and Wittebro venerated as witch hunter martyrs…
Is he gonna be HAPPY? Actually shed a real tear of joy, that he’s a hero? Only to expose himself in public and get taken down for it!? Will it distract him in a crucial moment, will we hear from HIM personally what happened; Albeit with a grain of salt? Because Philip failed to kill the witches, he needs to get back to stop them. And the Collector is also an even bigger threat to humanity than witches ever were… GOD that’s gonna be so fucked up and awkward for everyone involved.
Also, I noticed we didn’t see Amber. Probably doesn’t mean anything. We also didn’t see Steve… Again, prob means nothing and might disclude the idea that Steve was a mole. But then again season 3 might open with the coven heads teaming up and clarifying how they knew, so maybe? But god… We saved everyone, but at what cost?
AND KING!!! GODDAMMIT just like season 1, Luz loses King as he thanks her for being there for him, making the sacrifice to get her to safety as Eda did in Agony of a Witch! This IS his season, like the first was Eda’s… And now the final one belongs to Luz!
…And oh my god. There were SO MANY SKULLS… So many Hunters, dead; More than we guessed! If Hunter saw those, he’d… I’m so glad he didn’t see them.
