911 not being afraid to show parents who get it really fucking wrong with their queer children. How we queer people carry that burden our whole damn lives, including the burden of forgiving so we can have some peace.
911 also modeling change and learning and accountability. Toni got it wrong and she owned it and she’s doing the damn work of restoring the relationship that she damaged. It isn’t enough that Karen had forgiven her for breaking Hen’s heart. That doesn’t mean that Toni should be punished, but she needed to repair the harm.
She did better once she learned better.
Damn, I love this show. Especially the nuances in how it tells queer stories.
